Exactly. There are times where I forget he's on the team.

GalchenyukWatch on twitter watches his games and logs the stats. .. Yeah.

He hasn't got the Russia game stats up yet, but against Germany he only played 12 minutes. He probably played 9 minutes ES, and was given a lot of PP time.

Is there a reason why the US only picks from a roster that's named in the summer?

They don't. But they can't hold longer tryout camps/training sessions like the other teams since all the NCAA players have finals in December.

Same old American forward. Skates down the wing and shoots. No creativity with the puck or any noticeable skills.

This team runs everything through Seth Jones. Some of the criticism of him is a bit misplaced. He's playing the style Housley wants him to play and creating lots of scoring chances. Gaudreau has to finish on that one where Jones skated into a 2 on 1 by himself. Hit off Gaudreau's skate cuz he missed the pass. Don't blame him for the GWG. Yeah the Russian forward made a nice move to cut in on him but he forced a low percentage shot and the rest of the Americans left that other Russian right in the slot uncovered for the easy rebound guy. Gotta mark him up.

The team played well enough to win against one of the best teams in the tournament. No need to throw the baby straight out the window but tweaks need to be made.

Galchenyuk needs to be leading the forwards in ice time. Miller needs to be moved out of center and I think the three Gs should be on different lines.

Why didn't players like Reid Boucher, who's having a good season with Gally, or Adam Erne get invited? Surely they are more skilled than Tyler Biggs

Boucher's average skating doesn't fit the vision USAH has taken in the WJC the past few years. Erne is an underager from outside the NTDP - making it extra hard to get noticed. Boucher was top six or bust. He wasn't competing for the same role as Biggs.

We need **** disturbers like Samuelsson/Matteau. Or Biggs needs to step his game up.

Wouldn't have hurt to invite them though.

One thing I have learned watching Grimaldi here and at UND, he will/does need a TON of coaching if he is ever going to be more than a fourth line or a healthy scratch in the NHL.

He is completely out of control on the ice at times. He reminds me of the really fast guy at pickup who knows nothing about hockey, but is REALLY FAST. Obviously I exaggerate, he is very skilled, but damn he looks crazy out there.

I am not sure if it is the :

1) 7th place finish from last year;
2) games being on too early and a million miles away;
3) NHL strike;

but the lack of enthusiasm from the U.S. supporters is shocking. Where are you guys this year?

Anyway, good luck tomorrow against Canada - but, as usual, not too much luck. Canada is 2 men down and I think you will win. Sad but true.

Anyone know where I can watch the U.S.-Russia game?

Put Grimaldi with Galchenyuk. Rocco has all the jump right now and we need someone like that playing with our best forward.

Found out the only way to watch it is thru TSN at $3.99. Oh well, might be worth it. Better than renting a movie.

Gaudreau isnt playing great IMO but he has looked more in place on the top line than Grimaldi has.

I'd say it's definitely the time of the games, there's no hype building up to them because barely anyone is watching them live.

Come on... Gaudreau has done absolutely nothing.
