I ininitially put it up bc it was the most random emoticon. Still a bit confused while it's available. I'm not even sure if I've ever had it. Pretty sure it's big in Canada and the Northern most parts of the U.S.

Never had poutine, you are missing out. Hell I might get one tonight now that my mind is on it.

Here are the projections for this year. Remember, things could change a bit based on the outcome of games between teams battling for playoff position , however last year the cutoff was right on money with the projection around the same time, so it should be pretty damn accurate.

Projected point cutoff required to make the playoffs:

Eastern conference = 95 points
Western conference = 95 points

Records team will need to maintain to make the playoffs:

EASTERN CONFERENCE:
TB = clinched
WSH = clinched
NYR = 1-10
OTT = 3-10
NYI = 5-7
CAR = 5-5
PHI = 6-6
FLA = 7-5
MTL = 7-4
BUF = 8-4
NJ = 10-1

WESTERN CONFERENCE:
VAN = 1-12
CHI = 2-8
CGY = 2-10
PHX = 4-8
STL = 4-8
MIN = 5-7
COL = 5-6
DAL = 7-4
DET = 7-4

Good luck boys!
I've picked up like 6 points since you posted this, and I still haven't clinched.

With the exception of that comment which is prob out of frustration after a loss to Calgary, I must commend Pittsburgh for his attitude towards this league. His combined record must be like 30-150 and is a subject to alot of jokes given his poor play. Is called out for all his losing constantly and how does he take it?

Always stays active on the board and always stays positive. Impossible to bring this guy down. Definitely respect that. Must say, great fixture to the league. Great job Pittsburgh. Hopefully 2013 is kinder to your results in this league though haha.

have finished their block, and (temporarily) quit the league to prevent roster problems.

I'll be away for the next five days, returning the night of Jan. 7th, which should be the end of the next block--feel free to play my CPU. That should put me back in time for the start of the playoffs.

If a few of you could see clear to beating the Islanders and Flyers, I'd be obliged.

I'm glad I'm five points up on Dallas or that loss would have been much more frustrating.

Malkin and Hossa just kill me even if I only allow a couple chances.

Also why does nobody answer PMs anymore?

Go in league members, go to yourself, press "A" and it will give you the option to leave the league.

Thanks for a great last minute or so of our game Florida... doing circles in your own zone to kill the clock was a blast! It's people like who have no business being here... and I'm sure the complaints on you are just piling up so it's only a matter of time.

Rumors swirling in Ohio, ownership is calling for GM Smiths head. Rumors are an ultimatum was made, something about no playoffs next season, no job.

I know it's been beaten to death (just like my defense HEY-YO)

but this games cpu controlled defensemen are abysmal.. I dont remember it being this bad in previous years.. though through all the defensive faults in this game, the one that annoys me like no other is when the defensemen just stands there like a pylon..

Well, the only time I find them bad is in the offensive zone. They shouldn't bug you in your own zone since you should be controlling them. If you're skating back with a F and hoping the CPU dmen will save you then I don't know what to tell you!

All the *****ing I did about Giroux and he still might hit 60 points, woooooooooooo.

I mix it up.. I'll sometimes switch to the D and I'll sometimes backcheck.. it depends where on the ice my backchecker is and who it is, if he's all the way in the offensive zone, then yeah I switch to a Dman.. if it's a forward with speed, I may backcheck with him because he can catch the player.

however, even when I do switch to the D, they're sometimes already still caught flatfooted because they step up on the play and they just freeze.. It doesn't happen on every play, it's only in some instances, and I know I am not the only one to have it happen to or bring it up.
