Hey Glendale Visionaries/Insiders... what's all this hub-bub about a "secret meeting" at Norma Alvarez' house?

Outstanding.
A review of the actual expenditures year-to-date suggests that some downward revisions are needed due to some unanticipated, or under budgeted, costs...
Revenue collections through the end of November 2012 for city sales tax and state-shared revenue (almost 75% of the General Fund (GF) revenue budget), indicates that the city is about $3.4M below the amount expected after five months...
Expenses are over forecast and revenues are under forecast. Is that a problem?

George is trying to draw some weird parallel about Norma's crusade to make council politics more open and her having a private get together at her own private residence, despite the fact that by his own account an editor from the Glendale Star was invited.

It's typical Faller CT tin-foil hat nonsense that I love him for. It gave me a big laugh...

...oh and MY favourite part?

Prospective Phoenix Coyotes buyer Greg Jamison is still trying to secure late financing and money in order to finalize his purchase of the hockey team by the end of the month.

That includes some possible financing help from the National Hockey League, which has owned the Coyotes since 2009, according to officials familiar with the potential sale.

“He is still looking to finalize the deal before the end of the month,” said Max Fose, CEO of Phoenix-based Integrated Web Strategy. Fose’s communications firm has been helping Jamison with this Coyotes effort.

Multiple sources familiar with the Coyotes situation say Jamison is still trying to shore up final money and financing in order to buy the team.

So does "multiple sources" mean multiple people on HFB?

And here I thought the standard rule on this board was Sunnucks was a horrible source for info?????

Always wondered if validity of a source was dependent upon who's agenda it fits.......

Not if it's an LLC that owns the club.

IIRC... Jamison set up two of them. One for the team, one for arena management.

All previous comments/responses aside.

Nothing that would surprise me. Alvarez was on Sam Chivara's campaign committee who unseated a fellow council member.

All sorts of strange bedfellows happen in politics. Glendale is no different.

Oh he is, so you should take some measure of hope in what he's reporting.

Of course it's different from what John Shannon is reporting so we might be seeing the developement of a space/time continuum paradox that will cause the Earth to rip asunder. In that case the Coyotes will be relocating....to a parallel dimension....along with the rest of the NHL....and North America...and the whole of humanity...

The speculation with regard to GJ`s lack of funds is reaching the logical conclusion that if he had the money this deal would have been completed long ago. Furthermore, if he was secure in his financing he would have been more out front on the losing PR battle that he has been fighting! Financing security would have allowed this fraud to be out front during and now post lock out soliciting goodwill from the potential suite buyers, advertisers, and last but not least the fans. Instead this guy has hidden behind the curtains of GB and the NHL with nary a peep! Such behavior does not instill confidence in anyone including the players, coaches and the poor folks inside the organization attempting to gin up enthusiasm when even they know nothing! Does this sound like a confident buyer? Of course not!

He is... but it's all for entertainment purposes. Kind of like a bad sitcom that they won't take off the air, because a few lost souls still watch.

A Canadian reporting the team is sold...

An American reporting the team is not sold...

Could be tricky for the city, here's what I read

What are the odds GJ lives until the end of his contract of the city? Any lawyer here would know what happens in Arizona/USA if a legal entity is dissolved while it is still bound by contract?

Ya but the agreement won't be with GJ only but with his investors group. He'll prolly have a minority part in this investment. So if he dies I guess the rest of the group will have to continue the contract.

EDIT: Thanks for the infos Stanley Cup. Gonna read a bit about that.

It's the LLC that dissolves, and GJ as an investor is a member of the LLC.

Edit: I see that you're from Brossard, I think LLC translates to S.E.N.C.R.L. (Société en nom collectif à responsabilité limitée).

He was told to do this by the NHL and they told him "we'll make it worth your while".

Then a few years later they could aswell buy the arena, ship the Coyotes and have brand new Westgate Central Casino and Beach resort.

After all, Trashers didn't leave Atlanta because of financial problems but because their owners could do much more with the space and time left free by their move.
I thought about this. The problem is they can't have a Casino anywhere but their reservation but the can't use Westgate as part of it.

And before people scoff at the whole "we'll make it worth your while" notion from the NHL, there was in year one (1) of the Coyotes being for sale, a very strong rumour going about ( and was published in a paper ) that TNSE was to get 5 large ($5M) for going thru the effort of getting all thier ducks in a row to take the Coyotes, but being denied the actual purchase of the team. No word on if they ever collected on this or if it was ever true.

Yeah, they might even keep a team in a market where it doesn't belong for three years while they search the globe for an owner.

This ugly rumour Gramps Jamison doesn't have the money to close on the wonder full Coyotes opportunity, shocking I tell you, absolutely shocking!
