Spain and Holland are definitely loaded. They should be pre-tournament favs.

Is Nathan Ake playing for Holland?

I'd be shocked if Spain didn't win this. That team could/would qualify for the CL in La Liga.

Why isn't Deulofeu on the Spain squad? That's a shocker to me

No he isn't, so that alone tells you how deep Holland are.

They've got 18 (out of 23) players on their rosters aged 21 and older.

I believe he's in the U20 WC squad.

Speaking o the U20 WC why, the hell are these tournaments in the same month?

The Dutch are my favorites. They've got a big chunk of the team that's bossing their qualifying group down their with de Vrij, van Rhijn and Blind along the backline, that Strootman, van Ginkel and Maher midfield trio and a capable attacking line.

But Russia will be really strong as well, they've got Dzagoev, Kokorin, Cheryshev and Shatov joining from the senior side to play with Shennikov, Burlak, Yakovlev, Panyukov and Smolov. That's a big chunk of what should become the core of the team who will represent them when the WC comes to Russia in 2018. Ozdoev is the only eligible player who's not there who'd have liked to see on the team and that first trio of attackers will tear many of these defenses to shreds as all 3 of Dzagoev, Kokorin and Cheryshev can really shoot the ball on top of their strong dribbling and movement.

Italy also brought a lot of attacking firepower to run around in front of Veratti.

Usually they don't, the last two U20 World Cups took place in August/September-ish which mean some European sides couldn't bring their strongest teams

The U21 tournament used to be in even years but I guess UEFA didn't want it to interfere with the Euros and senior World Cup

That norwegian defense was awful leading up to the penalty.

Norway's U21 team is the complete opposite of the senior team. Strong offense, weak defense.

Norway should be able to defeat Israel with only 10 men. They've had three shots off the woodwork already.

Dissappointed that Norway did not get the win, but in a game where everything that could go wrong did go wrong, I guess I should be happy with a draw.

England game starting now. Don't think Zaha is playing.

Ince suspended and Zaha still on the bench. England are so lucky the Norwegian defense went fullretarded against israel.

It's so odd to me that it's the U-21 and yet there are 23 year-olds playing. I know, I know they were 21 when qualification began...it's just weird to me.

England seem awfully content to give Italy the ball and let them push forward.

Italy controlling the game so far, really should score and not rue it later on

Italy robbed out of a clear penalty, then get a freekick against them when it was a good tackle

Not sure that was a penalty. Didn't get the ball but didn't really get the man either.

It wasn't a clear cut penalty. Was a trailing leg but would've been harsh to give it.

Ridiculous over-reaction to that challenge by Shelvey.

It wasn't that terrible.

No need to react like that at all though.
