In another huge trade the The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded Joffrey Lupul to the Dallas Stars for Radek Faksa, Jamie Oleksiak, and a 2014 3rd Round pick. Toronto's GM coz21 had this to say about the deal.
"Joffrey has given us a lot as a player but we felt we need to do what's best for his career and put him in a winning environment while building our future as well. We feel we've added a lot of value in this trade with Jamie and Radek.

One of the glaring needs of the Winnipeg Jets was the lack of a true, top line center. Mission accomplished. Ryan Getzlaf is a Stanley Cup winner, an Olympic gold medalist, he has size, and tremendous skill. He fits our team extremely well, and brings a lot of leadership to a young room. He is exactly who we needed and look forward to seeing what he can do.
We give up a huge, HUGE, chunk of our future, but we are confident that it will work out for our team. We understand his free agent status at the end of the season, but we will make every effort possible to make him a part of this franchise for the foreseeable future. We thank the Ducks, and wish Mark, Alex, and Patrice luck in the future.
