TSN 1050 or Sportsnet Fan 590?

Just a quick poll here, for your Maple Leafs news/rumours/talk, which radio station do you prefer?

I've got both as 1 & 2 on my car radio. I grew up listening to the Fan 590 when it was really good but TSN 1050 has really blown them out of the water. Just having Bob McKenzie and Darren Dreger multiple times on a daily basis is pretty amazing.

The Fan doesn't really have the quality and quantity of credible NHL sources (Nick Kypreos). But they do have Tim Micallef and Sid Seixeiro.

Toss up really. Im done with Brady. He's a little arrogant. And by little, I mean I find him completely pompous. Tim and Sid are great. Mccowan's anti fighting rants are now unlistenable. My .02

Fan 590. I've never listened to TSN 1050 and never will.

I want actual sports analysis - not a bunch of NHL apologists.

I think McKenzie (TSN), LeBrun (TSN), Dreger (TSN), Kypreos (SNET) and are the most reliable.

1. McKenzie (best in hockey world)
2. Pierre LeBrun (very intelligent and credible)
3. Dreger (working alongside Bob, he's pretty credible)
4. Kypreos (him and Dreger are close)

Fan 590...

Bob McCowan is hard to listen to at times and his lack of Leafs IQ is obvious. Entertaining, though. There's a reason he's been around forever, he has pretty good knowledge of other sports (NFL, NBA, golf, etc).

Tim and Sid are amazing. I love their sense of humours. Amazing.

Doug McLean is pompous and I wonder how he was an NHL coach and GM. Stunned.

Jeff Blair is good for Blue Jays news. That's it.

They rebranded it to "Sportsnet 590 the Fan" from just "fan 590"...

For me its 590 the fan all the way. I can't stand Cybaulski or Lang, and those or the time slots i'm most available to listen. Tim and Sid are absolutely hilarious, i love catching their show when I can. Sheepdogs Rock. I actually like PTS, not for Bob, but his usual guests like John Shannon, Brunt etc..

I would vote 590 the fan if i could...

I'm completely indifferent when it comes to listening live. When I'm trying to listen to an interview after-the-fact, it's the fan 590 and it's not even close. TSN Radio's web presence is a confusing mess, making it an absolute nightmare trying to listen to previously recorded interviews/segments.

Actually to tell you truth media is a bad source hockey information.
Too much sound bytes and not enough content.

Tim and Sid get me through the day when I'm in the office. They're great. In terms of insider information, I use the internet or twitter, and don't really rely on the radio. In the car, I can't really listen to either since I live in DC now. Only some of the shows come on the satelite radio at certain times. I was raised on the fan 590 though, and haven't been too impressed with tsn 1050 the odd time I've listened.

I gave TSN1050 a try, but I can't be converted.

I find Mike Richards too frat guy-esque for my liking. He can get creepy when he chats about girls.

Cybulski is okay, but he comes off as a rock star some times. And Bob Mackowycz drives me bonkers these days by feeling he need to tell me who their guest is after every freakin' question.

Fan590's guys can be annoying, but I find them more tolerable.

And I have also found that I'm enjoying TSN's hockey insiders much less these days. I'd rather listen to the Fan's insiders speak.

I prefer 1050. The Fan590 personalities are old and boring.

1050 bores me to tears. Dreger sucks. Too many tools on that station.

TSN for the fact I won't accidentally tune in and listen to Bobcat. How a guy who hates hockey has survived so long in this city is beyond me.

1050 when Tim & Sid aren't on, those two are amazing together, doesn't matter what they're talking about.

that's my AM radio day.. but I hold no allegiances. I used to listen to 590 before noon as well, but the hosts are terrible, and that geoff blair I just want to stab in the throat for being so arrogant and crass.. not even if an entertaining or playful way like Bob McCown.

Bill Watters will be going to 1050 this fall once his 640 commitment is up.

TSN and it's not even close IMO. Sportsnet has so many blowhards like McCown, Cox, Maclean, Kypreos, etc. I have no idea why TSN employs Steve Simmons though .... he fits in much better with the pack at Sportsnet.

I'm good with Blair...if for nothing else than he's a baseball guy and I love baseball.

590, mostly because I've been listening to it since it started ('93, when it was still 1430 ). There's also the matter of my radio's inability to clearly get 1050 in my bedroom.

Even with all that being the case, though, if they keep changing the station name to slyly change it to Sportsnet 590 and drop the "fan" part, I'm gone.

I hate the fact that the ******** at Rogers have felt they needed to put the "Sportsnet" brand on the station at all.

Agree with what mot people say. TSN radio for the most part, except in the afternoon when Tim and Sid are on the FAN. They usually have interesting topics and float between a bunch of sports which I like. They stick mainly to NHL, NBA, and MLB and don't have too much boring CFL on there.
