He is losing more puck battles than he does in an NHL game. He needs to dial up the intensity a notch. Maybe on this PP coming up.

Yeah... that was pretty embarrassing. I don't get how you can do something like that, especially on national TV with replays... Do you really want to be labelled as a diver?

Also that setup with nuge and scheifele both behind the goal line is stupid. It doesn't work when you don't have anyone out front with a shot. They need to stop that. Anytime two of your most dangerous scorers are behind the net theres a problem.

What a dive by the American player to draw that penalty, similar to Schiefele's dive against the Slovak. Just a shove and the diver went flying.

Interesting that RNH was angry and shoved the guy because he saw Schiefele got dumped at the corner with no call.

RNH dodged a bullet there. Also how can a junior team that has RNH on their PP be as bad as Canada has been?

RNH was terrible on draws tonight, I'd be surprised if he won 25% of them TBH. The whole top line left something to be desired tonight IMO. Did MacKinnon get hurt it seemed like he barely played in the 2nd and 3rd.

Fair enough. For an offensive d-man his hockey IQ seems poor, his passing isn't that great, and his shot isn't finding the back of the net. Yes he's a very good skater but he has left a lot to be desired in this tournament.

To be fair they were pretty good before tonight. Pregame show said they were a tournament best 4 for 10 in the first two games.
But yeah, they were awful on the PP tonight.

Hamilton missed the net twice and hit the defenseman couple other times on those two 5 on 3s. He was the weak link on those 5 on 3s tonight.

He was either missing the net or shot when should have pass.

That may be true, but they couldn't even get anyone open on a full two minute five on three. That's sad.

Yeah, definitely got some work to do.

They're trying that 2 fwd behind the net passing back & forth play to set up the d in the slot, but the Americans and Gibson were ready for that probably after seeing the game tape when we scored one like that against either the Germans or the Slovaks.

Gibson also made some big saves too.
