PITTSBURGH — A Shaler Township 6-year-old who is battling brain cancer hoped an online effort would help get him a chance to meet his personal hero, WWE star Daniel Bryan, and in just 48 hours his wish came true.
As we first noted over the weekend, a video was uploaded to YouTube of a boy named Connor suffering from brain cancer that wanted to meet WWE star Daniel Bryan. The idea was to setup a meeting with Bryan at the upcoming WWE tapings on 12/18 in Pittsburgh. PWInsider.com reports that Bubba Snider of the Bubba Show on 100.7 FM in Pittsburgh saw the story and contacted WWE attorney Jerry McDevitt. McDevitt then confirmed that he, WWE and Bryan will "roll out the red carpet" for a meeting between Connor and Bryan.
I saw this on Deadspin. Cool story, but my gosh the people making comments on that site have got to be the worst people in the world. Who can be so heartless to make jokes about a child with cancer?
I really like Daniel Bryan, he seems like just an awesome guy. Really most WWE wrestlers these days seem like really good down to earth people. Doesn't seem like there are many guys being jackasses to other people like in the days of Hall, Nash, HHH and HBK.
Only person who might be a bit of a ***** in real life seems to be Orton.
I like that Daniel Bryan & Kane not only made the appearance but they seemed to enjoy interacting with the young kid and werent just going going thru the motions when making their appearance. Liked both of them before and now like them both even more after seeing this. And likewise to Cena for making so many appearances with sick and traumatized kids which must be heart wrenching and drainning to do. Ive seen a few similar appearance by Big Show who is also great with the kids.
Kudos to all of them for putting a little joy into the life of kids who are having such a rough go of it.
