#CBJ sign C Michael Chaput to a one-year, two-way deal. He'll make $650,000 if he sticks in the #NHL.

Has an outside shot at making the team but he might have lost his chance after not seizing the opportunity last year. He was OK, but you don't stick with OK.

yeah, the 1 yr deal IMO is a "show us you have something more to give us" or cut bait...

Last year was the best shot he'll ever get, and he wasn't even ok imo.

He's adequate for a 4th line Center. He'll play 20 games with us to fill in for injured players.

This. I'm OK with re-signing him, but he's a minor-league guy. I hope he doesn't, as Nord suggests, play 20 games in a call-up role.

I find this lack of faith in the Skippy disturbing.

My thoughts exactly. A lot of younger prospects are going to pass Chaput on the depth chart this season.

He blew his shot last season, and like others have said, his ship has probably sailed. Will be a nice piece for the Monsters, though.
