Nobody likes Murphy except for Spott.

Wotherspoon's been alright this game. Murphy... Well that's another story. I can't see him in the NHL. He has so many holes in his game.

Every time I see Wotherspoon, he is sprawled on the ice. Not a fan of his skating

Well, my standards for defense have lowered dramatically in this tournament.

They seem to be stubbornly sticking to Hamilton-Murphy as the first unit pairing which has been wildly unsuccessful.

This whole idea of guaranteed spots has, IMO, been a total bust. Hamilton, despite his pedigree, has looked pretty damn pathetic all tournament.

Besides a bit of a slow start, the only time I really felt scared, was when Murphy was on the ice. I think his second best play was a cross ice near suicide pass he made. Just scary.

Also I thought Galy looked dangerous when he had the puck.

The defense as a whole has been pretty spotty, with Murphy being by far the worst. Today may have been his worst game - made several soft plays where he chickened out on a play because he was going to get hit, bobbled the puck in key spots, misplayed the 3-on-1 badly, turned the puck over multiple times, made several panic plays...just no redeeming aspects to his game at the moment.

On a different note, Subban certainly rewarded Spott's patience today. His best game by far, and he was certainly deserving of Player of the Game honors. If he can keep playing like that, so much the better for us.

A very sloppy, frenetic game - the biggest concern for Canada right now has to be the power play. Back-to-back 5-on-3s in the 3rd in a one goal game, where one of them was for a full two minutes, and no goals with the talent this group has is unacceptable.

I'm still bitter about Corrado being cut.

I didn't like our setup for this, and we seemed to be content to take slappers from the point instead of really closing in and looking for grade A chances. We seemed to stay in the umbrella.

Wow I really hate the US PP, what's with all the terrible angle shots? Rocco Grimaldi is really bad. Also still not seeing much from Seth Jones. Trouba is really good though, I feel like I'm going to grow to hate that guy in the NHL.

Winnipeg must be pretty bloody happy - Scheifle and Trouba have both been great in this tournament.

Trouba has made a couple stupid players that I was not impressed with. But otherwise, he has looked good.

And they all just stood there instead of moving their feet, making their shots completely predictable.

Is anyone going to join me in doing the Canada doubleheader tonight/tomorrow morning?

Spengler Cup Final: Canada vs HC Davos @ 3:00AM
WJC: Canada vs Russia @ 5:30AM

Hahaha... This is insanity! Still trying to determine how to plan my sleep schedule best.

I think I'm just going to watch the WJC game. Got a ski trip planned tomorrow, so I want SOME sleep.

Love it too. I PVR all the Wolves games that are on TV because they usually conflict with my work schedule. Not sure how I managed without it before!

I don't see the problem with 3 goalies, one gets injured pregame and potentially big trouble.

Meanwhile you have 4 forward lines good for 20 min per line per game. 75 min worth if Dmeb. Plus spares.

Sadly, I need my hockey to be live to feel the rush. Otherwise I'd be in on the PVR posse.
