Yes on the right-handed shot, no on the nationality. Myers was born in Texas, but grew up in Canada and played for Canada at the WJC. I like the idea of Kane on the Sabres a lot actually, but Myers is a tough piece. Of course you have to give to get.
While I agree way too much is being made of the Vegas photo, the alarming part of the article is the supposed rift between Kane and the vets regarding taking his girlfriend on road trips, and his inability to be coached - if it is indeed true. Not sure about the credibility of the reporter or his accusations, but if true I would think the best place for him to end up is an East Coast team (less travel, won't have to bring the girlfriend along all the time) that has a hard nosed coach (something tells me Torts would get this kid on track). Maybe something around Staal +? Would give the Rags a ridiculous top 6 of Nash-Richards-Gabby, Kane-Stepan-Callahan.

Kane is not going anywhere. The last time, it was a perfunctory ? since he had not actually inked a new deal, and until that was actually done, while there was no reason to assume he was out the door, it was reasonable to see, just for conjecture only, what would he fetch (depending upon contract, also).
That said, for discussion only, if offers were considered, NYR offer IMO should be something like
Girardi + Stepan + throw in + lesser pick
for
Kane + higher pick
Chicago would be adding something significant to that deal. I value E Kane and Ladd each pretty close to P Kane.
I wouldn't trade our Kane for yours straight up actually. And Ladd is our captain and an excellent 2 way forward. Each on their own are in the same realm of value as P Kane.

Any deal from Calgary has to involve Baertschi and I don't see what else you could add to make a deal. Not being an ass, just saying the Flames are terrible partners. For the past 10 years they think they're contenders so all of their draft picks were traded or middle of the round selections that haven't amounted to much and their most valuable asset players are all old and have significantly reduced value. Other than Baertschi I don't see anything else I want from Calgary and that wouldn't get a deal done.

As an impartial fan i've got to say that this is almost laughable.
E. Kane is 3 years younger than P. Kane, but in E. Kane's third season in the league (last season) he scored 30-27-57. While P. Kane in his third season in the league scored 30-58-88 and had 28 points in 22 playoff games en route to a Stanley Cup. I don't see how E. Kane is on any sort of trajectory that would have him be better than P. Kane in the future.
Ladd was on the Blackhawks for 3 seasons. There was not a single game where he was considered better than Patrick Kane.
I will definitley agree that both Ladd and E. Kane have intangibles that P. Kane doesn't have such as leadership (Ladd), hitting (Kane), and defensive play (Ladd).
But considering that P. Kane's career low in points is still higher than either of E. Kane or Ladd's career highs, I don't see how you could possibly consider either of them equal to Kane.
Kane for Couture would make sense to me. Jets need a center more than a winger. Sharks can just move Pavelski to 2C. Both are young goalscorers.
Maybe it's just homerism, but I see Couture as far more valuable. He's a well rounded, two way centreman capable of playing on the top line with huge potential. Both are very young, but Couture seems like a pretty mellow guy off the ice, whereas Kane has his share of troubles. We like Pavs on big Joe's wing because Pavs can score, and Joe's a great passer.
This deal would help you, but not us. Perhaps try something with the Pens? I hear Sid needs a goalscoring winger.

Nah, wouldn't help me much. I'm a Hawks fan who wants Pavelski as our second line center. I just saw this as a reasonable trade. Maybe Jets add a depth player because that is what SJ really seems to be lacking. It isn't nice when you have to protect your 3rd liners the way SJ is forced to.

Along with that....when did Baertschi become some HUGE HIGHLY TOUTED talent? He's had some pretty good stats in junior but other than that...meh. If we had to do the draft over again, the Jets should still have taken Scheifele in their position.

Bouwmeester has nearly negative, or minimal value to the Jets, and the Flames would be thrilled if Baertschi becomes half the player Kane will be. So no, I don't see this wearing any glasses.

While JayBo may be softer than Buff's gut, he's still a top pairing defenseman. I think that's what it would take to pry away Kane, a top pairing defenseman and a blue chip prospect. Jets really have no reason to move him. Baertschi, being the 9th ranked prospect in the world should make up for JayBo's deficiencies. I'd love to see Kane play with Iggy.
