If Canada had a good coach he would have told them to stop taking penalties after the Finland game. If they keep taking penalties in this second period I would be very, very worried for their play throughout the tournament. If the coach and/or the team refuses to adjust then they're going to be in trouble.

I was just thinking that.... seemed to work before. I think they should keep the pairs that came from the same teams together.

Shouldn't have made RNH captain.

Never have a WJC captain from a NHL team that celebrates losing. Creates a culture of losing.

Three of the four are Leafs fans. Murphy made his first real bad mistake of two games, every other defenseman has had their struggles but Murphy literally has to be flawless and even then he'll still suck in some people's minds.

Another period with stagnant offense for Canada. I guess that was to be expected after we cut the country's purest natural goal scorer, Frank Corrado.

rnh has been fine, it's 1-0 and he hasn't been given a ton of opportunities because of all the penalties

No kidding. What's with that powerplay? They're standing around letting Sweden get into position.

Really Bob? I'd say that's one of the worst penalties you can take at any time of a game. A good penalty is one taking away a scoring opportunity.

Canada started great, and then...penalties.
The team simply has to be smarter. No excuses.

Agreed.

That line had chemistry - no doubt about it. Get one line clicking and it will be easier to piece the remaining lines together.

Seems to me that nobody on Canada has really made themselves all that noticeable up till now unless it's for bad plays and stupid penalties.

I don't know what kind of coach Spott is, but he doesn't strike me as the type to be able to wake these kids up.

No kidding. Not like the other D-men have shown anything more this tournament, or that they haven't had their moments as well (Stupid penalties all around, Reilly screwing up, Wotherspoon blowing a tire on the goal).

So, you believe that Spott hasn`t mentioned the need for discipline??? Easy to send the message that penalties tend to be called more frequently accross the Ocean, whether or not these teenagers receive that message is another story
