None of the Finnish sources say anything about Kurri. Jalonen himself told (MTV3.fi) that his coaching staff will consist of assistant coaches Mikhail Kravets and Alexei Gusarov plus Finnish goalie coach Jussi Parkkila.
If SKA gets eliminated in, say, the 1st round of play-offs, it's reasonable to expect their firing right then, isn't it?
It might be reasonable but I don't understand why the KHL teams make multi-year contracts with coaches. It's not like they would run to NHL because coaching jobs there are reserved to good old Canadian boys. And everyone knows that the GM's in KHL often change their coaching staff more often than their socks. But if they have the money to terminate the contract who am I to judge. All I know that many Finnish coaches have spent pleasant sabbaticals after being fired from KHL for king of weird reasons.

I think that Kurri going there is false information. At least the Finnish link in the OP states that Jalonen is the only one signed from the NT. Jalonen is anyways leaving the NT after next WC and the next coaching crew has already been announced. I don't think that this affects the national team that much as he would anyways spend most of his time watching KHL games because that's where most of our national team players are

As Finnpin stated Westerlund is signed for the Olympic project with Lauri Marjamäki as assistant coach. Marjamäki is a very young coach and many people myself included believe that he will take over after the Olympics and be the next long-term NT-coach.
Money talks. I think Jalonen can make more money in this 1,5 year contract than he made during 6 years as a national team coach. He's a great coach and I think that his system fits in KHL really well.

Jukka Jalonen can organize the game system well but it needs all players understanding it and perform it as he wants it. If there is too much "surfers/floaters" who don't understand team play Jalonen might be in trouble. He is a very good coach though but he is now in different league with different culture. We'll see.

I bet Veli-Pekka Ketola could still lift more. I recall the famous story about the way he took over the locker room in the late 90's when he was the GM and coach with Ässät, first day in the gym, takes off the suit jacket, without warming up up bench presses 150 kilos.
