Is there something that says Trocheck and Gally will be playing together?

I worded it Canada and Russia, then USA and SWeden. Had I mean USA was ahead of SWeden I would have said Canada and Russia, then USA, then Sweden the way I said it with finland and Czech, then Finland, the the Czechs.

Bad wording on my part but I meant.

1. Canada/Russia
3. USA/Sweden
5. Finland
6. Czechs

Also I don't mean that's who I think the consensus for medals are, that's who the consensus is in terms of which teams are better. I know Canada/Russia/USA are int he same pool so all medaling will be tough. But if it turns out those were the best teams they should be the 3 teams than medal.

I also went on to say later in my post that the teams are so close that anyone could medal so that implied that that part of my post you're refering to wasn't talking about who was gonna medal. I think Canada will medal, after that I wouldn't be shocked with anyone outside of the bottom 4 teams. For the record I think it'll be 1. Canada, 2. Russia, 3. Finland for the medals.

Anyway that's kinda really off topic here so back to the game, I still got Finland winning it

Not sure that is the consensus. I have seen some people putting the US and Sweden ahead of Russia (Corey Pronman for instance). Others have put Finland ahead of both the US and Sweden.

I think this year is a more wide open tournament than past editions.

I believe we will see the US take this game as if it were a pool game. I expect the top lineup out on the ice trying to use the limited time left to get chemistry.

it's definately not unanimous, but I think if you went through everyone's opinion here giving 10 points to the top team, 9 to the next, etc. Canada/Russia would be pretty close(maybe not as close as they should be because of the number of Canadians on this site), and USA/Sweden would be close just ahead of Finland I think

Oh I think there is a clear ranking among the fans.

Canada

Russia

USA
Sweden
Finland

Czechs

Everybody else

I was thinking of scouts and people in the media who follow prospects. Not as many of them are as high on the Russian team as the fans are.

Not that it matters in the end. This is a very talented Finland team. I'm excited to see them live.

Does Haapala play on a line with Barkov for Tappara? Thought we'd see a Teravainen/Barkov combo for the Fins.

He did and at the start of the season Haapala had point per game pace (Barkov had 2PPG). Then came Hansen and took the spot in the first line. Haapala hasn't produced much in points since, but still plays in a third line (?) role in Tappara. The funny thing is that also Barkov had a better PPG when he was playing with Haapala. So it might not be all bad to put those two back together.

He does indeed. The first line of the 93's, Salomäki, MaG and Armia have good chemistry as seen in the Canada-game. I don't think Haapala would be a good choice for the bot 6, partly because of his short stature, 5'9", so it leaves only one choice, play Haapala with Barkov and hope they find their chemistry. Needs to be a good game now for Haapala.

I hope that they cut's Haapala and move Teravainen to 2nd line wing. Last year in Brno Teravainen kept feeding him(or Ikonen not 100% sure about it) with world class passes almost every shift he was out there and he wasted 70% of them because he didn't have stick in ice.

EDIT: Teravainen and Lehkonen had amazing chemistry last year, can't see Haapala being good as Teravainen with him.

One of them was going to be out anyway given how they can't dress 14 forwards (or they can, if they wanna play with 5 D).

More I wonder why they cut down the D down to 7, and whether there was some misinformation. In here, reported just a hour ago, it's 12+8 with Auvinen in.

And oh, Laurikainen will be the backup goalie. Could this mean Juvonen is the reserve? (Unless Korpisalo tanks.)

Sometimes in exhibition games, teams can dress extra players if both teams agree to it.
