Again? Talk about a class act. He's obviously having a blast in this league.
BTW, the photo gallery includes a few close-ups of Danny's new glove/blocker.

Are visors mandatory in this league?

FYI - Lightning GM Jay Feaster has indicated to me and several other STH that the new CBA will have to address whether existing contracts for 2004-05 are considered "served" or if the 04-05 contracts will be applied to the next NHL season. Basically the NHL and NHLPA have to come to an agreement on what happens.

some quotes about al's play

Quote:
While Michigan's potent offense put up impressive numbers in tonight's contest, the difference maker was Michigan goaltender Al Montoya. He stopped 21 shots on goal, and made a number of game-saving stops to keep the Falcons from gaining any momentum.

"You don't like to have to make those saves," said Michigan coach Red Berenson. "He was the difference maker. He kept us in the game when the game was close."

Bowling Green coach Scott Paluch agreed.

"I thought Al was exceptional," he said. "Five or six of those saves were really swing-type saves. I thought we could have gotten the lead a few times
in the first. That would have been really big for us. He also made some real good saves early in the second period."

and while not goalie related...greg moore scored a goal last night in Maine's 4-3 loss and Darin Olver picked up two assists in NM's 4-2 win

Al stopped 22 of 26 shots in the 5-4 win on Saturday.

CCHA Tornament starts this friday, Michigan takes on Notre Dame in a 3 game series.

Last chance for Montoya to win it all this year...since Kessel has annouced he's playing for Minnesota next season.

geez, I love Alvaro, but I hope ND wins. Not much chance as they are horrible this year, maybe one game.

Kessel better win in 2005-06 because he will be in the NHL for 2006-07.IF the NHL is playing by that time

montoya won tonight 1-0 in OT vs ND. Al looked pretty good, but Morgan Cey was unbelievable. Stopped 42 shots before Michigan scored. Alvaro let in 1 goal in 2 games vs ND.

Michigan Wins 3-1. Montoya saved 12 of 13 shots. Only gave he gave up was a partial breakaway when his dman gave up the puck to someone....Al went for the big pockcheck and the player put it between his legs. Al really didnt face any tuff shots but made a few quick saves on a scramble in the 1st.

CCHA Championship game is tomorrow, they will play the winner of Michigan State vs. Ohio State which starts at 7:30 tonight.

Its set...tomorrow CHAA Championship is between Michigan and Ohio State. Game is on TV at 7:35.
Ohio and MU have split the season series. Michigan lost the first time they played them 4-1 and beat them the second time 6-3. Should be a great game. Go MU!

EDIT- I dont know why I wrote NCAA!

That's the CCHA championship. Long way to go to win the NCAA championship.
