Well done.

Company VP just trolled one of the accountants. "Did you catch that Packers game?"

Also found out my nice "studio" headphones bit the dust after 14 years of service. Need to find a new pair for around $50 or so. Looking at the Audio Technica ATH-m45fs and the Superlux HD668B.

This. I just got in from an hour and a half long game at the rink a couple blocks from my parents place. It was just perfect under the floodlights tonight.

That's either a really tall ref, or a really short goalie.

Good!

It's also an amazing feeling to participate. Too bad I only made it through the auditions.

That's still insane. I'd probably end up with my brain gently painted along the ice in the first bump/turn.

Ski cross is awesome though. I used to do competitive giant slalom and ski cross when I was younger, but had to give it up after I swerved to avoid another skier in Swiss Alps during a holiday, fell off a ravine/cliff in the mist and pretty much wrecked my right knee to the point where my right knee is now somewhere between Judas Priest and Manowar. I also hit my head and got concussed and actually had a hair fracture to my skull, which probably explains a lot.

I have skied since though, but I can't afford a pair of skis so I usually use rental equipment. It's a shame it's so expensive and there are no decent slopes in Southern Finland, so I haven't had a chance to do it in two winters. I'd probably still be quite good at it though, the last time I was out there I hadn't been skiing in an even longer time and felt quite good right from the get-go.

In other news, you know what sucks? Drinking beer and not getting drunk but a slight headache instead.

I tried out and missed the cut by 0.14 seconds. So disappointed.

I assume there are some ice fishing enthusiasts on these forums. So I am looking into getting my first real ice auger. I have a hand auger but that isn't cutting it anymore. Any tips, brands ect. to look for?

I am not a huge ice fisherman, but have grown to enjoy it more and more the past couple years. I would say I'm at least a once a week kind of guy. I do want a nice auger that will last but I'm not sure if I really need the high end professional models.

Splurged a bit this week on some guitar/recording stuff:

- JamUp Pro XT for the iPhone (pretty cool)
- Logic Express 9 for my Mac (got it off eBay for $25, normally goes for $200)
- Superlux HD668B headphones (replace my old AKG's)

I spent a lot of time this past weekend fixing up my guitar so now I can rock out with my socks out...plugged into my phone.

And with Logic I can do some re-mixing of my old band's album. Always thought the songs were good, mix was awful though.

Saw it last year, but I'll be up at uni when it's going on. Sucks too, I've heard they're doing some St. Paul Winter Carnival stuff on the course too and my family has three Vulcans in it from past years so I'd definitely be there for it if I was in town. There's word of seeing a few guys in Vulcan costumes going down the course on national TV too.

Three 503 errors in a few minutes? Oh, the NHL and PA agreed on buyout windows for MTL and NYR.
