Wow...Dancevic and Kubot are having fun breaking each other's serve, through two sets they each have 4 break points won.

EDIT: Kubot wins the match 46 64 63 6 break points for Kubot, 5 for Dancevic!

Ferrer will be back at #4 in the world, knocking Nadal back to #5.

That was bound to happen no matter what just by virtue of Nadal pulling out of the tourney. Even if Ferrer didn't get the w/o to the 3rd round.

That's also the fifth retirement this tourney.

The seeds are dropping, Mayer, Granollers, Chardy, Monaco and Benneteau are all out so far.

Hey look! Tipsarevic remembered he's a higher ranked player and that he shouldn't be bowing out in his first match

This is the first retirement that I avoided. The previous 4 were all players I picked to win.

Pospisil is into the SF in Rimouski.

Bouchard stayed even with Sharapova through four games, but you could tell that by the fourth game Maria was beginning to dial her in. The last four games went by very quickly, including two breaks of Bouchard at love. Sharapova is very much on her game, and now Bouchard has to see if there is anything she can possibly do about it. Probably not.

Feed switched to soccer everywhere with Sharapova about to break Bouchard at the start of the 2nd set. Later: Sharapova won the set 6-0. For the night, Eugenie won only 3 of 16 second serves, 1 of 11 in the final set. Hopefully a bad loss that is educational rather than traumatizing.

So who else has their brackets royally messed up with DelPo's loss? I had him going to the semis against Djokovic.

Something is wrong with the feed, it switched to commercials and then their sports recap show. Back to illegal feeds!

Edit: working again!

And another game for Milos!

Ah, yes, Querrey, the little bump in the road who might determine many of our fates more early than expected.

Yeah...there's alot of red in the top half of my bracket...I had Monaco vs. DelPo in the 4th round...neither made it past the second. Fortunately the bottom half is fairly green, if Raonic loses to Querrey...say good-bye to the bottom half.

Milos is on as soon as the Berdych match ends, which could be any time now. He is down 6-2, 4-2 to Falla as I type this, with Berdych serving.

Raonic withdrew with strep throat.

Raonic withdraws, Sam Querrey gets walkover. MT @crosscourt1 Milos Raonic just announced that he has withdrawn due to a strep throat.

Feel bad for Raonic, as things were looking good for him...but oh man, there goes our brackets.

Hopefully he's rested by Davis Cup time.

Thinking it over later, I guess so many of us picking Raonic to go deep is a classic example in this case of how a little knowledge can be a dangerous thing.

That's it...with so many retirements in Miami I'm asking for doctor's reports before making my Monte Carlo picks

Is there a duller professional tennis player on the face of the earth than Sam Querrey? He makes Wawrinka look like Mr. Excitement.

LOL that's classic Cibulkova. Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Cilic takes the first set, 7-5, from a maddeningly inconsistent Tsonga. As per usual, he doesn't seem ready to start the match and, too typical of his opening sets in general, his play displays no conscious thought whatsoever. He just sort of mopes about from point to point, sometimes something works, sometimes it doesn't. It's like he forgets how to string together well played consecutive points. He was in trouble in almost every service game and sometimes you just want to shake him: "WAKE UP."

Tsonga gets the break in the first game but shortly gives it right back. At 3-3, he puts Cilic in a 0-40 hole, and then botches the next three consecutive second serves and loses the game for 4-3, Marin. The only good news is that he is playing Cilic who is not much of a closer sometimes....Tsonga is still displaying an incredible array of poor decisions, miss-hits and unforced errors (about 30 and counting)--he looks ripe for the taking....6-6 tie breaker...a rain of more unforced errors makes it easy for Cilic to close it out. Good win for Marin; dumb tennis from Tsonga.
