Ibanez was a pretty decent bench player, but I'm sure the media will gush over how the Yankees are screwed since they lost him. Of course, basing this entirely off of an unsustainable postseason streak where he crushed every ball in sight.

That being said, I liked Raul, but I don't think it's a huge loss. The Yankees need to work on getting younger and it's gonna be nice for Raul to call it a career with the team he came up with and spent so much time with. It's best for both parties.
It's pretty clear that the Yankees are beginning to scale back on throwing money up against the wall til it sticks. Let's wait to see how it works before we call them out. This could give Nunez a shot at DH full time.
