Cold War Kids released a new album on Tuesday. A few listens in and I'm digging it. Definitely a step in the right direction. Not nearly as good as Robbers and Cowards, but a solid album nonetheless.

Agreed.

Paste Magazines best songs of 2013 (so far...) Phosphorescent's 'Song for Zula' is #1. http://www.pastemagazine.com/blogs/l...o-far.html?p=2

Also, I know all you kids are too cool for pop punk anymore. But the Thermals have a new albums coming out on the 16th.

This year's really looking good right now, really digging both Youth Lagoon and Phosphorescent. Something that I don't think I've seen mentioned here that's I'm really enjoying is Waxahatchee's Cerulean Salt.

This newish band (first album came out in 2012) Majical Cloudz, from Montreal, has a new album coming out in late May and this is a single off of it called Childhood's End.

This is probably one of the best songs I've heard that has a dark mood to it. I have high hopes for this album.

One of the best things about TDH is their (his) versatility, so much within each album. I thought Migrant all sounds more or less the same. Some decent songs, but I thought the whole thing was disappointing overall.

I do like that Waxahatchee album. Wish it was a bit longer, though.

So far, Midas Fall - Wilderness is probably my favourite of the year. I'm listening for the first time to The Knife's new album, and that's pretty amazing too.
