Heard the stream of Chvrches. Yes.

Still disappointed that they passed on what may be their best song, in my opinion.

Some stuff I hadn't heard before, which grabbed my attention aside from the songs I already heard. But it's all awesome. It is up to my expectations. And I'm pretty sure Pitchfork will go ballistic.

Now is not the time.

It definitely should be on there over "Under the Tide" or "You Caught the Light".

Bands tend to do this. It's like Gregory Alan Isakov with "Mercury" and Wintersleep with "How You Lie". Some of their best songs but never show up on records.

I'll check it out.

I really liked the record. I listened to it in full today for the first time.

Probably Boards of Canada's "Tomorows Harvest", or MBV so far...

Liked a few songs off Modern Vampires of the City, but overall, Tomorrow's Harvest and MBV is just better.

Long live ASAP is a distant memory... that album got limited play and was horribly overrated, at least by Pitchfork lol

This topic was started 12-22-2012. It will be 12-22-2022 before we can actually know what the best album of 2013 was.

Pretty much... Looking at pitchforks yearly lists, then comparing them to the decade long ones, pretty big differences. (But pitchfork is terrible anyways )

People who are expecting Oracular Spectacular, I don't think they want to do that. It doesn't really seem like they have a direction, they just want to do their illegal things, play some music, and see what happens.

All CHVRCHES, all the time.

"We Sink", "Mother We Share", and "Recover" are just fantastic pop songs.

Saw them live here in TO a few weeks ago, just amazing. I get the sense that they could be big, so we'll see.

The production value on these songs is really great.

I can see those songs being added in because, Martin does sing, and it was probably a good place to put those songs in there. The album needed a track in the middle to be a breather.

Under the Tide is also awesome live.

I completely agree, that song should have been there.

My partner and I were mega disappointed on our first listen that it wasn't.

I assumed NINTT would be, because they perform it live, and are performing it live in support of an album it's not on. Maybe a second album? I don't know how often bands do that with a song they left off the following album.

I like the Chvrches album a lot, but I think I like the new Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. more.

Anyone heard the new stuff from the Cults album coming out in October? The two singles are decent, nothing as catchy as the first singles from their last record though.

I'm not surprised, I thought Oracular Spectacular was way overhyped outside of like three or four songs.

My big disappointment so far this year is Naked and Famous. Their second album is completely forgettable.
