The new MBV album is out. I'll let everyone know how great it is shortly.

Just finished it, the album name and cover are seriously horrible. Otherwise it's an amazing album, esp. track 3 who sees you. I like it as much as I like Loveless.

I feel it would be better if the tracks were reversed. The first three are the best.

Just listened to it. It was enjoyable. Meandered a little bit.

Isn't Anything is a far better album (very underrated btw), let alone Loveless, though.

I'm really liking the Jim James solo album, and I usually find MMJ pretty hit or miss.

Unknown Mortal Orchestra's new album came out earlier this week. NPR has it streaming on their website: http://www.npr.org/2013/01/20/169452...l-orchestra-ii

I love this band. The guitarist has a classical spin on his technique; I can definitely see some Bach inspired melody.

Doesn't belong in the 'Best of 2013' category, but I stumbled upon these guys on Xbox music and their album was pretty interesting.

Its a poppy mishmash of blues and psychedelic rock. Mgmt fans should give it a listen.

This album is great, I think it definitely should be in the running.

Also really enjoying the new Brave Bird and Comadre albums.

James Blake announced today that his new album "Overgrown" will be out on April 8th. He also dropped the first single:

I'm VERY excited for this.

Jesse Lacey supposedly told a fan at a concert tonight that Brand New would be releasing something new by the summer. If it's even as good as Daisy was, it'll probably be my AOTY.

Since the link's broken, here's another one:

Wow. I mean I liked his old stuff, but I absolutely love this song. Hell of a first single. James Blake is on the verge of stardom. The white Frank Ocean

Yep, it's really great. He's already pretty popular, but I can definitely see him blowing up this year.

New k-os album came out last week. I'm not his biggest fan, but the list of featured artists made me a bit curious. Emily Haine's hook is interesting, not sold on the rest of the song.

Very different from the first single though:

Two Hours Traffic, one of the few Canadian bands I like is releasing their album, stream is up on exclaim. Their 2nd album was awesome, really nice pop rock.

Not a huge fan of James Blake, but that's good. England/UK is where it's at for music, whether rock, electronica/house/techno, a lot of new contemporary R&B and soul, of course indie.

Listened to the new Local Natives, pretty good after first listen.
