I tried to vote but you can't without Facebook or Twitter, 'cause apparently you're not a member of society without them. **** all that.

Anyone hear the rumors the Pirates are looking to change logos next year. About time I say, the current Jolly Roger is pretty ugly and the red no longer has a place.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. Honestly the team should just say to hell with a normal logo and promote the 'P' to full status, but I suspect we'll go with something garish to sell to the kids.

I'm shocked it has taken this long for rumors to even pop up, though. Only the Mel Gibson logo of 1958-1976 was used longer than the current constipated bucco. Historically the Pirates have drastically changed their appearances every decade or so. The only constant has been the 'P' cap logo, which has been constant since the team's shift to black and gold in 1948. The whole thing gets underlined when you realize the Pirates have basically wiped red out of use and have been almost exclusively using variances of the 'P' for the past ~4 years.

The current logo is just a bit too 90s for my tastes. When it was new it was fine, but it hasn't aged well...which has been the case with just about all of our logos. The Pirates haven't latched onto a timeless logo yet...but in baseball the logo is the least of the concerns of a team's aesthetics.

I'd instantly become a Pirates fan. You can hate the guy, but can't fault him for wanting to win above pretty much everything else.

I really think it will be close game. They have more than a month to prepare this game. I expect margin will be less than TD.

I'm a bit torn. I do love seeing Notre Dame get their ass kicked but I do kind of want a great game tonight. We got mostly stinkers so far in the NFL playoffs and the bowl games have been just okay. It would be nice to have some drama late in the 4th quarter of a big game. As long as Notre Dame loses and gets their hearts broke I'll still be happy.

Hopefully over 50. Then I hope he just mouths the words "**** Ohio State" as he looks directly into the camera.

I won't be watching the game tonight. I have more interesting things to do with my time than watch those two schools **** me off. Like re-watch The Critic for the 28th time. Or just sit in a chair peacefully.

I think you have to go to ND to like ND. I have a relative that went to school there in the early 2000's and he's a big fan but everybody else I know that has no ties to the school can't stand them.

ND is like Duke where you either love them or hate them.

Like was stated it's mostly hated for those who didn't attend the school. I've was trained as a child to hate ND and Jimmy Clausen made it exceptionally easy to continue that.

Although I would like Te'o to be a Steeler. Even Zeke Motta in 6th or 7th.

but Duke has had success that can at least justify their nauseating media saturation. what have the domers done to deserve their over-coverage and public fellation? this is only their third 10+ win season since 1994.

i think many resent that demographic and economic considerations rather than on-the-field play have vaulted Notre Dame into the public consciousness year-in-and-year-out.

Duke is more like the Yankees. They get hated because of their dominance. Fans of other teams want to be them. There aren't a whole lot of people out there who are lining up to trade in their favorite program for what Notre Dame has been offering up the past 20+ years, not unless you desire failed expectations.

Notre Dame gets treated specially by the media despite the fact that this is the first time they've really been relevant since the 80s. Hell, the Oilers won more Stanley Cups in the 80s than the Irish have claimed National Championships since 1950.

It is, very literally, their 'holier than thou' attitude that turns off so many people. You either like them or want to see them fail spectacularly.

The reason I loathe Notre Dame is like Big said, the media loves them for no real reason. Just so they can get hits online from the biggest bandwagon force of all sports in this country outside of the Yankees, Lakers, and Cowboys? **** them. Oh, and their fans too, **** them as well. Only show up when the media is slobbing on them.
