Why another one of these? Way too early to be talking about 2014 draft picks. And Coutourier isn't the right guy to ask about from Philly, they value him way too highly on these boards for that.

Philly fans have a ***** for Couturier, and rightfully so because he's quite good with lots of potential even still. That said, they're not moving him for anything short of an overpayment. It's not worth it for the Oilers to give up Schultz for him, since this leaves us with no great D prospects.

Plus I'm pretty sure nobody outside of the Oilers system cares about Tyler Bunz despite him being a pretty good goalie prospect.

Why would we trade out number 1 OFD we've been searching for forever before he plays a game?

Toss in Eberle and Hall also. I am sure after trading away the best defensive prospect we have had in years they would want to go with him....

Plus Schultz picked Edmonton even with all the other teams that wanted him , if Edmonton was to trade him how would it look to other RFA ? We have enough trouble getting good FA to sign with us , then we get one and trade him right away . Not going to happen . Love to Have Couturier as our #2 center . But it would cost too much . We will have to draft our own

I wouldn't trade Schultz straight up for Couturier, let alone add. Not with our depth at forward and need for a pp qb.

Just draft another center with your top 3 pick.

Edmonton is desperate for top D-men. Why would they trade Schultz?

The man making this trade would get fired in Edmonton...and that's hard to do

There is no way EDM trades Schultz, fans would go crazy and Schultz would be pissed off also as he chose EDM. Courtier is a good two centreman but I would not trade Schultz for him let alone adding. I think a better deal would be Yak going to PHI for a package of either Schenn or Courtier in it. That would give EDM their 2C they need and Briere is getting up there in age gives Giroux a legit sniper to play with.

That has so much to do with never being able to acquire Couts from Philly... Honestly, if you want a player like him, draft one, since you have a better chance at it that way. Don't get all butt hurt cause it's plausible.

Buddy, these silly proposals have to stop. Not even my 8 year old would propose such a trade. You are really making Oiler fans look stupid. There is no rhyme or reason for this trade.

I think that it's safe to assume that Edmonton WILL NOT trade Yakupov or Schultz or Eberle or Hall or RNH, so stop with all of these silly proposals.

It's equally safe to say that Philly is NOT looking to trade Couts unless it's a massive overpayment.

Close this thread!!!

Kind of, but I think its a different situation. Edmonton fans hard on for Schultz is because we haven't had a good, young defenseman since...well, Paul Coffey probably, ha ha. Seeing one coming up excites us. A lot of Philly fans, on the other hand, see that they have a glut of centers and seem to think all of their prospect centers will be first liners.

Man, this lockout needs to end ASAP.
I don't how much longer i can handle seeing any more of lakai17 and oilersfan11's proposals.
Seriously, what's the point to these proposals?

...what?

Unless you still consider Schenn a prospect, then Couturier is the only prospect who any Flyers fan thinks has first-line upside.

Laughton projects, at best, as a shut-down sort of center. Cousins doesn't have that upside, and likely ends up at wing.

I seriously have no idea what you're talking about.

In any case, there's a reason that Couturier was in contention for the top pick in his draft class. He slipped a bit, perhaps because of the mono, perhaps because of being over-analyzed, and perhaps because his game does have some limits (skating), but it was still a shock he slipped to 8th. Let's not make it seem like he was some long-shot that Flyers fans are inflating into something else. He was a blue-chip prospect before the draft, and has only improved his stock since.
