I always prefer fresh as well. But during the winter, frozen is often a better way to go with regards to some vegetables.

Oh, that is more then I was expecting. For some reason that just didn't seem like enough.

Yeah, I know what you mean, especially when you're up north.

Same with another buddy who is on the opposite end, he is only 5'6 and fairly thin but he has no problem chatting up people, especially the ladies, when we are out at bars etc.

Like I said I can see how it might affect some people but we are all made differently and there are a lot of people that do not care about their weight or height etc and just exude confidence. I'm pretty darn confident in myself and my abilities but I know many people that are far more confident in themselves then I am. For me it is less to do with looks and more to do with having the knowledge of something. So I hated to do presentation in school growing up but I learned early that the more I was prepared for them the more confident I became. So maybe that can be seen as similar as having more confidence when a person is thinner?
So, in other words, you look down on people who gain personal satisfaction and confidence from physical progress and ability.

And yet you gain personal satisfaction and confidence from mental progress and ability.

Why and how is what you do better? What's so much better about intellectual gains?
(This is coming from a 3.7+ UBC Engineering Physics major, if that affects your perspective at all)

Getting away from all this philosophical stuff:

Do you guys listen to music during workouts? I used to all the time, but I've started to move to more motivational bodybuilding YouTube videos. (Audio only ofc)

Gets me more pumped up nowadays for whatever reason

I always listen to music. I cannot stand exercise on my own (I'm must more suited to working out with others or sports), so at least music helps. Minus when I swim.

So music is a must, or something. I currently have a little home gym going on, and so at nights my husband runs and I bike, or vice versa, while we watch TV.

I just watch the Grapefruit video before and I'm amped as **** in the gym.

But for real, yeah, I listen to music in the gym. When I first started lifting I hated it, but now since I work out by myself 95% of the time not having constant music throws me off.

I guess not posting portion sizes can be misleading, but I was too lazy to do that.

The dinners are relatively big; ie, the fish are whole fillets, there is half a pound of shrimp in the pasta, and the steaks are like 12 oz.

My biggest problem has been shifting my cooking techniques to different approaches. I was used to cooking with a lot of butter and oils, it has been a pain in the ass to cut that down as they kill your calorie and fat intakes.

I find when I bring my iPod to the gym that I take too long of breaks between reps/sets, so I just listen to whatever crappy generic playlist the gym is playing, and only use the iPod for cardio.

Don't listen to music for lifting. It just distracts me and makes me take longer breaks. If I do, it'd be non vocal music.

Love my music in the gym, one of my headphones broke a couple of days ago (just the left one works really screws with some songs) and thats bad enough but couldn't cope without music entirely.

Whats with the gloves hate from some people?

I don't actually wear them just curious.

That are to preserve them yourself depending on what the future need will be. I like to preserve tomatoes for use is sauces for example. My dad like to get my mom to preserve beats, though I am not a fan of them....try and try as I might I can't get use to the taste.

Have you tried golden beets? Less sweet, and also less earthy... or as the woman says, taste less like dirt than red beets, but still taste like dirt.

I often have it on but if you ask me when I am done the songs that came on I would likely not remember. If I get into the "zone" the music becomes background noise I guess.

Must say I have not. Will look into them because so far I tend to only use beats if I make a fruit/veggie type shake as the taste can be mostly masked by the fruit in the mix.

Grrr I want my punching bag installed. It didn't fit into my Jeep so is still in Montreal at my parents place. My brother is suppose to being it here next time he comes which I hope is this weekend or next at the latest.

Speaking of music. There are some advantages to having a few extra pounds, I mean this would not sound as good on a skinny dude.

4 sets of 10 with good form as well, so haven't lost too much from having to do other back exercises instead
That is great. Getting back into pull ups after an injury is daunting.
