If so make sure to season it properly and it will give you years of enjoyment for your taste buds.
What he said.... Oh, and be sure not to soak it in water overnight or anything, some of them will rust.

Great investment.
Now if you'll excuse me I'm off first period..time to get a good stretch in and some pull ups.
I have a cheap $20 from Target, that is actually ****ing awesome. It also doubles as my pan for deep dish pizzas when I make them. It's the perfect size, and mocks what a place like Gino's or Lou's type of pan from Chicago.
Also once its seasoned it is really easy to clean.
There have been a few times that I've seared, and eventually burnt, a few specks of whatever into it... but they eventually go away even if I can't scrub them off initially. Nothing I get to worried about, and if it's a pain to try and get those chunks off, I normally don't waste any effort in trying to do so. Happens most often when I make a sweet potato hash.
I make one for dinner at least one time a week, sometimes twice if we don't go out at all.
Nothing too fancy here. Just cube it up and toss with salt, pepper, little olive oil, dried tarragon, and rosemary. I have a ton of flavored olive oils, so will toss in one of those afterwards. Seems I almost always use the lemon or chipolte olive oil.
Anyone ever try insanity? My friend has the DVD I could use, I was thinking of doing it on my resting days from lifting to work more on my core. I think a lot of people do it almost every day, but I figure it would be hard to lift and do it on the same days.

That's basically what I currently do.
I train in the gym in the afternoons and do Insanity at night before bed.
I'm on to Volume 2 of Insanity: asylum. The main 60 day dvd doesn't require any weights so it shouldn't be too difficult to try and combine both.

I figured you'd have to lift before doing it at least, I always found it hard to do a lot of cardio and then lift. Do you do it every night? Have you seen a lot of improvements? I'm trying to focus on abs a lot more now.
The initial Insanity program is 6 days a week, the first month workouts take no longer than 45 minutes so it shouldn't be tough to work it in.
As far as results go, I've reduced my bf% over these past few months by about 8% and my cardiovascular endurance has gone through the roof. I don't regret a single day of it, and when you start getting into the routine you actually start looking forward to the workouts.

I need some help with my diet for New Years purposes. My first step is to cut the crap out of my diet (sweets, 2500 calorie meals at Five Guys, etc), but don't know what I should actually be trying to eat. My goal is to lose the last ten-fifteen pounds that I haven't been able to lose through just exercise.
Well it's January 2nd. The month of December was a disaster. I gained like 6 or 7 pounds from all of the cookies and cakes. So it's time to start working out again. I'm going to be doing Rushfit again. I had pretty good results when I did about 3/4 of it until I got lazy at Thanksgiving.

I've followed primal/paleo/ancestral health for a year now, it could be what you are looking for.
What do you guys mean season the pan... like literally season the pan? Lol.. =S
And made it today, grilled the outside then placed it in the oven. Was decent, the chicken was from Walmart so I think that's why it tasted not that great.. Also didn't season the chicken at all.
My pan weighs 10lbs . It has grill marks too. It's really similar to beowolfs.
How to clean:
"How to Clean a Cast Iron Grill Pan
It's easy! Simply use a mixture of kosher salt and water to create a paste, then use a nylon scrub brush to scrub the cookware. After cleaning, rub a light amount of vegetable or olive oil on the cookware, place it on the stove at a very low temperature for about 30 minutes. It’s then ready to be used again."

I lost a lot of weight just swapping out some of my foods with those on this list from Men's Health. I'm eating no less than I was before and haven't added any exercise.
So I've decided I need to get in shape. I've never really worked out before or had the desire to but was laid off recently so off on EI and have a lot of spare time so figured now is a good time. I've read a little bit online but wanted to ask here too. What is a good workout for a beginner? What is a good amount to lift at first? For how long? Should I workout daily or every 2nd day? I'm buying protein shakes and heard its good to drink 30 minutes before and after the workout. Beside basic lifting what are some other good things to do to build muscle and just get in shape.
Just realized that this was a thread (don't venture over to the Lounge much). Hopefully not too many of you were knocked off the track by the Christmas train.
