Augstkalns should sit for the third goal. How on earth he ended up on the wrong side of the forward? But we are more miserable, than I feared, but atleast Lipsbergs looks alive.

Armia looked really good out there but Barkov was invisible.. as a team we gotta keep it simple and stop trying to be so cute with the puck

Latvian hockey and the quality of their/your players has come a long way. Dont be so hard on them. Its going to take time. Finland is stacked and is a gold medal contender. Gotta learn to walk before you can run.

Nice moves by Armia. It's amazing how sloppy he manages to look, yet he's quite effective. He must be the laziest player on the ice though.

He reminds me of Arttu Luttinen. His style of play is similar, but of course he's far more talented.
Armia is one of my favourite prospects because I can relate to him

Yeah, but in a few occasions he should've passed the puck to Barkov instead of trying to finish on his own.

He was my MVP in the US game. Really impressed me, I started to keep an eye on him in the 2nd. He plays the game physically, really doing the work out there but he's not a liability offensively, either.

His style of play reminds me of Kyle Brodziak, apart from the fact that he's not a center.

The match against Switzerland is the big one, should try build some confidence in attack, they will concede a lot no matter the mindset against Finland.

And actually, Nykopp is a '93 birthday and has played in USHL.

He has gone undrafted but I'm not ruling out the possibility that he's gathering some interest from NHL with his play. He might be given a try-out in AHL or at a summer camp (if the NHL ever returns).

I honestly believe playing in the MHL will benefit junior hockey in Latvia. Just need time.

I think Latvian, Norwegian, Danish, Swiss and Slovenian hockey are going to be the biggest risers in future. All of those countries allready have some NHLers or exNHLers, and very good KHL/NT players.

Just look at the Swiss. 4-5 years ago they really didnt have nobody in the big league. And just like that Boom Hiller,Streit,Weber,Josi,Diaz,Sbisa,Niederreitter, Baertschi and so on.

Norway made the QF of a few World Championships recently too.

Switzerland at the 2006 Olympics was The wins against Canada and Czech Republic

Well that was a sketchy call. Clearly the Latvian GK wasn't on his net yet we got called for goaltender interference. Oh well.

Gotta use your head there Salomäki, don't take chances like that, the goalie will always go down from contact.

It helps that Russians write foreign language names as they are pronounced, makes it a whole lot easier.
