Doubtful. He isn't completely useless, and he doesn't have protection from being buried in the minors. If he was claimed on re-entry waivers it wouldn't be terrible either, although extremely unlikely.

I would if he had a 2 way contract and we had an extra spot for extra signings. On a 1-way in the NHL, I would rather see a player off the marlies make the team, so no thanks.

He doesn't have a spot on this team though. That's the thing that bothers me.

And yea, you're right. He could be thrown on waivers, if that holds up as well. That was another thing in the CBA that was pretty shocking. They might take that out, so he could potentially play for the Marlies if that was the choice.
