If they indeed said it, Im not sure how they meant it, but it is quite possible that they meant Slovakia only has 140 players born in 1995. (might not be the exact number, but something around that range seems possible).

I don't think it's correct. I think someone may have mixed up their female under 18 players with their male. There's no way this country has more professionals than players under the age of 18.

It seemed a bit ridiculous to be true. I checked the IIHF website and they have 2000 as the number listed for "Junior players."

Slovakia has 6 576 registered players between ages 6 and 20 according to the latest stats in 2011. So quite a bit more than 140,but still I believe Latvia is the only team in the tourney this year with less.
