Don Cherry ‏@CoachsCornerCBC
I could care less what Nail thinks of us, what bugs me, he took a Canadian kids spot in the Canadian Hockey League

Oh look, Don Cherry is making vague WW2 references about a U19 hockey tournament in 2012/13.

Don going crazy without his regular TV spot.

Personally I think the majority of Russians and Europeans should stay home. Not because I have any nationalistic feelings towards a Canadian hockey league but because more often than that it's better for the player and the player's domestic league.

I don't give a hoot what he says about Canadians or Canadian players.
What will make him a star in Edmonton is scoring 40+ goals a season wearing an Oil drop.

hah, Canadian media and it's lack of shame in yet again making something out of nothing. How about the years of the media calling Russians "soft" "sneaky" and "dirty"?

There is a big difference between the teams Canada sends to this tournament now and the teams they used to send. I remember one year Jordan Tootoo was running around hitting opposing players 3 seconds after they let go of the puck and no penalties were called.
How many years ago was Della Rovere? Of course they send skilled players: 1) skill wins and 2) they have the most and best skilled players in the world.

But even on their highly skilled teams they seem to find some room for some players whose job is not to be skilled, but to muck it up. Again, that's fine, that's the game. But sometimes those players cross the line.

Of course other teams have players that cross the line, and of course jealousy and hating the big bad bully has a huge part in this, but there is something about the attitude of Canadian hockey that plays a part as well.

It's super successful, they are the best, but understand that it's going to make the rest of the world dislike you.

Yeah Della Rovere pissed me off. Can't really argue with anything you said. Cormier was another guy I hated.

Maybe they should take contact out of the game, play with plastic sticks and a tennis ball.

Diving doesn't injure other players. It might be unethical but it's not dirty.

Honestly I would not be surprised if it was just a poor translation. These type of things happen all the time with players who speak English as a second or third language. Should be an interesting game none the less.

I don't think Canada plays dirty, it's just a different style of hockey. Canadian kids are brought up playing w a bit of chippy-ness that you don't see in the Euro game. A hack here and a whack there are not uncommon in any level of Canadian hockey. When it goes international, Canada comes out looking dirty to the other teams, when really it's a different style. Check out the NHL for evidence when it's back. Nail had better get used to this if he's going to make it in the NHL, because he's got about 15 years of cheap shots ahead of him. Even worse if he's gonna whine about it... Call it dirty or whatever you want, Canadian hockey has a physical edge to it and always will.

it's got nothing to do with diving. It's got everything to do with Russia hitting dirty. My point being they do lots of dirty things, just like every country
