He was one of their better D men but had hardly any ice time. Steve Spott is just a terrible coach when it comes to managing ice time. Not much you can do.

And I thought Gally looked great in the Sweden game.

soon as WJC's are over and the NHL is back on, Canada will forget everything he said and be cheering for him. Atleast in Edmonton. That's all that matters.

canada russia game better be good

Yeah, if he thinks our juniors are dirty, just wait when he gets to the NHL. If he can't handle it now, oh Lordy.

This is the second-dumbest thing you've said regarding this tournament. The first was "Well there goes gold" when they named RNH captain. REALLY hoping you eat your words on that one.

This is either a quote born of immaturity or perhaps improper understanding of English. Very stupid thing to say nonetheless.

Of course other teams have players that cross the line, and of course jealousy and hating the big bad bully has a huge part in this, but there is something about the attitude of Canadian hockey that plays a part as well.

It's super successful, they are the best, but understand that it's going to make the rest of the world dislike you.

Easily the best post in this thread...

I like it. He got some balls. Hopefully he can back his comments even if I don't agree that Canada is dirty (at least not this year). Go Canada Go.

Yakupov has the right to talk smack all he wants. He is a returnee from last year's team that pounded Canada. I take his word over anyone else's since he has played against many teams.

Remember, this isn't the first time Canada is accused of dirty play/unbiased refereeing.

Robin Lehner 2 yrs ago went on a full out tirade on the refs for awarding Canada a win.

I'm no conspiracy theorist, but if players come out alleging Canada's treachery, I have to take their word for it.

so you're not a conspiracy theorist, you just lack critical thinking skills?

Old WJC Stereotypes:

Canucks are dirty and dangerous...
Yankees are disappointing...
Swedes dive and defend...
Finns are hard working and always overachieve...
Russians are erratic, inconsistent, unpredictable...

Generalizations exist because somethings are generally true. These might be stereotypes, but it's amazing how often these narratives have played themselves out over the years.

Not to get completely off topic, but for what it's worth, most experts agree that conspiracy theorists generally lack critical thinking skills anyways.

You realize that Canada is their competition so there are going to be obvious biases in their statements, right?

Just like to point out that those teams had many nonrussian players playing for them.
