Not impressed with Hamilton at all. Didn't think we'd look this bad defensively after losing Murray.

Spott is a moron. I am telling you right now wait till we play russia and he starts doing this stuff all over again. He will look like an even bigger idiot

Scheifele is what we could call in european football: a pure POACHER!

Pro tip for Team Canada.

Don't emulate Komisarek.

Good for Canada that they started against a team like Germany. Seems like the team is getting their motor running. Lots of things to do with the game before the real games though. Good luck!

Woke up?

Is it that time already?

Edit: Staying up in Montreal beats staying up in the Edmonton timezone...

Yeah Murray would have helped quite a bit! Although our first line looks really good right now.

I'm still nervous about subban. He still seems shaky. I really hope he gets more comfortable in net after this game and the slovakia game because usa and russia are going to be a nightmare if he continues like this. He's made some good saves, but still seems uncomfortable with the puck. Plus he's let in 3 goals in the first 2 periods, allbeit they weren't all his fault.

Maybe Canada should send their junior goalies over to SM liiga or Mestis so they'd have some semblance of development..

I know that Canada's defense isn't very good and sloppy play will happen, but I have zero confidence in Subban. When your team in front of you falters, that's where you're supposed to step up. The solid chances Germany has had, they've scored. Yes, they've been great shots, but it doesn't matter. Subban needs to make some saves and bail his team out. If he continues to let goals in when his team makes a mistake, his teammates will be squeezing their sticks whenever they make a bad play. Subban needs to show his team that he's there for them. Hopefully you guys get what I mean.I still defend that Binnington is much better, calm and collected in net. That's what they need right now.

Wow that Nugent-Hopkins... Pumped for Scheifele, maybe he can get a hatty tonight

Good job to the Germans on capitalizing on the PP and the turnover. That turnover was brutal, hopefully the D can get more in sync for the next game, and I was noticing the lack of Rielly and the over-use of Murphy. I hope that's just an early game experiment and not something we see the whole tourney...

Is the reason Spott's getting attacked because he's not playing Rielly (It's not like we're losing because of this) and MacKinnon enough? If we win every game, will people still attack Spott if these guys don't get the ice time people want them too?

Some people are actually bagging on Scheifele's game - a centreman that is playing out of position yet has scored two goals tonight and another in a pre-tournament game?

Tough crowd!

With the way some of the defence has been playing, it's a god damn tragedy Morgan Rielly isn't seeing more of the ice. I don't understand what this coach is thinking.

So his logic is to play the bad players even more (Murphy).

And to refuse to play the ones who have looked good (Rielly, MacKinnon, and if we're being honest, Binnington too).
