This upcoming week will be huge

4 points behind division leader the wild. Games vs edm and 2 vs the wild.

Finally heathy.

This week has the possibility to make or break the avs.

I hope Sacco gets the guys prepared.

Two weeks ago I thought we were on the verge of a top 5 pick, now the division title is within the avs grasp. Crazy lol.

We're no worse than Minnesota on our good days, Vancouver is playing ugly hockey and Calgary/Edmonton are almost as big of jokes as us.

In reality, we should have this division locked up. But we have Sacco manning the helm and O'Reilly held out as well as some terrible injuries early on. I wouldn't be surprised to see us choke but maintain enough of a reach on the 8th seed that Sherman sits pat this deadline.

I want to see us ship out the dead weight and let the youth lead this team 100%. Which is mostly our depth defenders.

If we make the playoffs, Sacco will stay sadly. So as much as I want us to exceed, we'll never reach the next level with him around and it's probably for the best that we fail.

Therein lies the problem. He can never seem to get our guys prepped properly. In game adjustments are terribad.

Yep. Its put up or shut up time. Guys are healthy (relatively), O'Reillys back, the team and Sacco has no more excuses. 2 of 3 is a must. Though 5 or 6 points would be amazing.

We might play Edmonton without Dubnyk and Bulin is also injured, if both are out there are no excuses to lose the game on Tuesday.

Agreed.

And just when you think this team has turned a corner they put up a stinker. So I don't really know what to expect. I really hope they can keep up the solid play.

Agreed and it should be against Minn. They have a harder time finding goals than we do, we shouldn't need Jiggy to stand on his head during that game.

Team has played 4 pretty damn good games in a row. O'Reily has changed the complexion of the entire team. If we would have had him for the season Im pretty sure we'd be leading the division.

The division is a total crapshoot. Not a single team with a positive goal differential. I don't think there is a favorite to win the division right now. It makes it almost impossible to buy or sell at the deadline.

But then again, the entire league is like that.

The Western Conference is ridiculous this year. It's Chicago, Anaheim, and everyone else.

Agreed 100%. I have been saying for this for the last few days, having ROR on our team gives us the ability to role 3 dangerous scoring lines every night. Teams just cant handle all 3 lines at once on a consistent basis. It would take either a lot of help from the Refs(Chicago Gm1) or a goalie playing out of his mind(Detroit) to beat us it seems.

IMO the Avs need to do whatever they can to keep all 3 Centers here long term, and find that to pairing Dman somewhere else(preferably through the draft this year).

The Avs success long term will be contingent on us being able to role 3 scoring lines night in and night out.

The disappointing thing to think about right now, is with a little luck in the CHI game, and 1 or 2 bounces in the DET game, we could actually be sitting on a 12-8-4 record right now, rather then a 10-10-4 record.

If we were 12-8-4 right now and on a 4 game winning streak, I would be very confident in this team making playoffs.

I don't get it, what's funny about the title? Or was it edited already?

And yeah, super important week.

We win those 2 games and we are tied for the division lead.

Also add in the fact that if we didn't blow that game against Edmonton earlier this year, we would be in first in the NW.

Avs were up 2-0 against Ducks when Perry slashed Zanons stick and then scored. Instead of 2-0 and a PP it was 2-1.

Avs were up 2-1 and on the PP against Blackhawks when Bolland took McGinn's stick out of his hands and Toews scored. Instead of 2-1 and a 5 on 3 it was 2-2.

Avs have had more than their fair share of brutal luck this year. The Oilers game isn't one of them. That one Avs dropped all on their own.

Oh of course.

I was just pointing out that the division really isn't out of reach, and it's a lot more realistic than what some people on here might think.

Winning the division is our best bet to make the playoffs.
