Honestly I think it's concentration. Tough to stay focused against an opponent like this.

Not sure about that. Bowling gets far better ratings than NHL games. Hockey is mostly irrelevant in the USA.

Oh yeah that makes sense. I was thinking a lot of the guys look small when next to the boards.

I've been far more impressed with the US this game than Canada yesterday, but I do understand there are some other factors. Still, very impressive.

Signed,

Galchenyuk has been amazing. He's strong on the puck and deadly in the the offensive zone.

Seth Jones has been quiet. The Ghost and Trouba are the best defenseman on the ice today.

NBC is paying $83 million a year to broadcast the English Premier League. The hunting shows cost almost nothing.

I think a tournament like this would make more sense to move over to NBCS when the NHL is in season. At least then you have a venue to promote it.

I expect that next year, whether it'll be at the Top Level or in Div Ia, we will see Tim Bender and Janik Möser on the team, who will add a different dimension to the defense.

Naw.

Size and diversity of the country, along with popularity of more established sports is what hurts hockey in The States.

Doesn't the deal with the EPL not start until next season? and they are on FSC until then?

Coincidence and the big lead and scoring early is making them coast a little at times.

That simply isn't true. Hockey is a billion business in the US. Calling it irrelevant means either you don't know what the word irrelevant means or you are just misinformed.

PBA bowling doesn't beat 1 million viewers on ESPN. Far better ratings? The Rangers regularly get over a million viewers on their regional network.

Extremely ignorant question incoming from someone not very familiar with the junior game...Are these international teams comprised of players playing in the OHL, CHL, QMJHL or are they from their own countries respective leagues?

Could be a good time next year with the games likely starting in the afternoon.

All leagues, just like the Olympics or World Championships.

Always laugh at this, remember the last time Detroit played the Pens in the finals they pulled an 83% household ratings in the State of Michigan and Toledo area. Which basically means more people watched the game than is possible in any area aside from the GTO in all of Canada. They cannot out pace that number simply because of population numbers, just saying.

I wouldn't say irrelevant but re-runs of a lot of TV shows beat the SC finals.

Riley Barber just thanked his parents on TSN. I wonder if they'll even see it..

many European players are playing in leagues in their respective nations (KHL, SEL) but most north american players are either in the CHL or play NCAA hockey.

Well using a channel that is limited with availability to determine that the hunting and fishing shows outdraw the EPL games is idiotic.

NBC Sports is in 2x as many homes than FSC. And some matches will be on NBC

So ratings will surely go up
