The Avs really won that trade. Sgarbossa might end up being the best player out of the trade (I see him as a 50-55 pt C or LW eventually with some grit). McGinn is the second best player and should be a good 20g winger (per 82 game season) for the next few years next to Stastny. The Sharks just got a few month of Winnik where he was a solid 3rd line wing, and Galiardi who should be a solid 3rd line wing for the Sharks but I don't see him as anything more than that at this point.
Exactly , i hope they sign Agozzino soon or is he ?
i havent heard about it, and have been wondering the same thing, haven't watched many monsters games lately, but he looked good out there. rather have him on contract than some of the other career ahlers.
Don't know, but I had noticed earlier he has missed a few games now. Don't know if it's an injury. Skating Tripods or anyone else know?
No idea. The news media around here don't care to update anybody on anything. I tweeted at pbp guy Doug Plagens last week to ask about Hishon and he didn't answer, so I doubt I'd get an answer about Elliott.
Like Av-merican said, this question was asked a page or two ago.
Gaunce played a lot more in Thursday's game with the Barrie call up and the Elliott scratch. He was a non-factor and I didn't notice him, which, overall is a good thing. He nearly got a stick on van der Gulik's goal going hard to the net, though that's not exactly where he's supposed to be.
But, as I said previously, he doesn't seem to be getting any better. Definitely has plateaued, possibly regressed. Lacks any physical edge and his agility and foot speed are killing him against smaller, skilled forwards. The better the caliber of player on the ice against him, the more he has struggled this season.
Monsters rookie forwards Andrew Agozzino and Mike Sgarbossa helped the Western Conference squad rally and eventually edge out the Eastern Conference team by a final tally of 12-11.
Sgarbossa and Agozzino each competed in three events: Sgarbossa in the Sher-Wood Puck Control Relay, Pepsi Pass and Score and the H&R Block Breakaway Relay; Agozzino in the Sher-Wood Puck Control Relay, the Pepsi Accuracy Shooting and the H&R Block Breakaway.
Early competition, during the Sher-Wood Puck Control Relay, Andrew Agozzino displayed some impressive skating and control as he secured the win for the West serving as anchor for Heat #2
Both Mike Sgarbossa and Andrew Agozzino will represent the Lake Erie Monsters and the Western Conference in Monday night's All-Star matchup at 7:00 p.m. ET in Providence, RI. Agozzino will be in the starting lineup for the West.
I know Sgarbossa and Agozzino are prime candidates for the next callup...what about Luke Walker? Stats-wise he appears to be doing reasonably well.
Honestly I'd rather call-up DVDG, Bill Thomas and even Paul Carey before Luke Walker. Walker is fast but he has no finish at all so it can get extremely frustrating at times. But he is one of the two professional athletes that I have met (the other one being Olver) so I would be really happy if he was called up. He seems like a really nice guy and I'm pretty sure that he was shocked that I could recognize him. Also Agozzino doesn't have a NHL contract yet so he can't be called up.
