Could someone give a short few sentence recap of the game? Was it tight game, did Finland play any good at all etc, why we lost?

Finland started the first period real sloppy, as if caught unaware by the straightforward, physical game the Czechs were playing. It was a rather deserved 2-0 lead for the Czechs after the 1st.

They picked up the pace, coming to the 2nd, and Teräväinen found the net to trail by one pretty quickly. 2-1. But the rally never got into full groove, mostly because the PP was horrendous throughout the game. They certainly had chances as the Czechs drew more penalties than we did, but just couldn't finish, or even create decent chances. That's definitely something to work on.

3rd wasn't much different. We controlled the puck, the Czechs had a handful of turnover chances. The positive thing was that Korpisalo was solid in net, truly diminishing any worry that he couldn't carry us all the way.

The PP had been terrible all night, and the rally without the goalie in the dying minutes didn't bring any change to that. The Czechs hit an empty netter five secs before the end and that was it.

Save for the PP and the start, it was still quite okay hockey, I'd say. Not superb and definitely nothing that's going to win any titles, but nothing that couldn't be fixed IMO.

Thanks a lot appreciate it. Hopefully they click and fire on all cylinders against Sweden. I wonder if the two pre-tourney wins got a bit too much in their heads and have not yet atleast subconsciesly found that level of intensity and effort that's needed. If everyone ain't giving 100% against Sweden it won't be pretty.
