i can see refs being a little more liberal for canada russia considering the weight canada bears in the CHL. As long as they avoid Boone Jenner-ish type charges they'll do fine. And plus, I'm sure they can complete a line change.

Don't expect much outta Gally this game he has too much respect for mother Russia to be burying goals on her.

Because he's 5'6. Believe me, us Panther fans know all about him.

What a change of events. Gaudreau doesn't bury a wide open net. Then Russia gets a PP and a goal right after. Seems to happen like that in hockey.

The penalties have to stop. Some were deserved, some were not. PK looked good overall but Russia is too dangerous to play with that PP all game.

I'm impressed by our 5-on-5 play. Passing is a bit off but we're carrying the play there, which is good because the PP hasn't looked in tune at at all in the exhibition games or opener.

5'6", people talk about him a lot but he is really small, time will tell if he pans out big.

I would want my team to tank for him, much more than MacKinnon, (not that he is lesser) Jones just looks NHL ready right now.

Difficult to play offense when you're spending half the period in the penalty box. Luckily they're only down by 1. They need an extended period of 5 on 5 and I think USA can really make some things happen.

Grimaldi on Olympic Ice vs. a team that is as physical as a wild pack of stuffed animals = Ok. You have to be something incredibly special to play on AHL/NHL rinks at his size. Puts Martin St. Louis and Gerbe in perspective some. Can't imagine those two on Olympic sheets.

How do you "tank" a rigged ping pong ball machine? We all know the Pens will get their choice of Jones or MacKinnon.

USA needs to be more disciplined. If they keep taking that many penalties, Russia will eventually make them pay.
Makarov also looked pretty sharp in the 1st. Doesn't look like he'll be easy to beat.
