Because Grigorenko somehow doesn't belong in the same conversation?

Mostly because of the 1st OV against the 3rd OV, no disrespect to Mr Grigorenko.

The debate around the draft was who should be taken after Yakupov, Grigorenko who held the no. 2 spot for most of the season, or Galchenyuk. Not to mention that these two were drafted in the same division and will likely be compared to each other throughout their careers, at least in the early stages. Yakupov was pretty well the consensus top forward.

Surprised at the early poll results. Playing a bottom feeder one day and then an elite team the next is never a good thing in this tournament. I like the Russian's and I'm thinking low scoring...

This game comes down to one thing for me. Can Russia play a better team game than they did against Slovakia? If they do, I think they will take this game easier than most here think. If they don't, they still have enough skill to keep it a tight affair. USA played today, so that could factor in towards the end of the game.

I think Russia will come out guns blazing at the start, but then I see the US gaining composure and playing the game at their pace which will cause chaos for the Russians.

My prediction: USA 5-3 and Yakupov is a non-factor but Grigs will impress.

Hopefully JT's line can bring a little more to the table this game.

1 goal 3 assists for yakupov in this game.

3 goals from galchenyuk

It's Galchenyuk vs Yakupov-Grigorenko part 1.

USA will win the game and Gally with finish with 1g 1a 2 pts.

Yakupov and Grigorenko will put their name on the scoresheet as well.

However, I'm really looking forward in seeing Yakupov being neutralized by Trouba and Jones.

So I'm guessing USA took out Gibson prematurely last night because he's coming off injury and they want him rested for tonight's game?

Yakupov was a no show in the Slovak game. Grigo has good passing skills but the guy who can pull off the moves and is quickest is Kucherov. If there is a game breaker on the team - its him. He made 3 beautiful rushes in game 1, just didn't finish. Kucherov and Koklachyov are the quickest with the best scoring ability IMO on the team... We'll see.

Pretty much. If his poise and athleticism against Germany after staying so cold in his own end is any indication, the Russians should be a bit worried. They're gonna be going up against Trouba, Jones, and Murphy and if they manage to slip by them, they have to face Gibson who seems to have returned to form.

Russia playing at home on the big ice. Have to go with Russia.

Excuse me if I don't think much of America's win over the awful Germans.
