Jonas Brodin, because it's so easy to see who should not be there.

I'd say Semin for Russia.

Sure he does not have the resume of say a MSL, but the lack of a suitable replacement for Russia makes it a bigger snub IMO.

oops. I voted for Ryan, but only because I overlooked Semin's name. He definitely takes it.

St. Louis and Giroux make Kunitz look like a peewee player without Crosby.

Embarrassing. This is going to be like 2010 where Crosby gets special treatment because he's Crosby. Sad.

Perhaps the league assist leader who is also 5th overall in points and didn't even make this list of snubs?

Nope. No one considered Thornton, for whatever reason.

Is Jiri Hudler not an insane snub?

Not because he's ridiculously awesome but because how can anyone justify some of the names that made it ahead of him? Zero case.

Those are 2 of my absolute favourite players (edge to Kovy) but that is simply not true. Kovalchuk is a better scorer and more of a gamebreaker, though I'd say Semin has a better two way game. Yes, Semin does have a great two way game, he just doesn't always play like he does.

Who also may not play again this season due to serious infection. Not even close to being a snub

I go with St.Louis, how can this guy not make the team - he is all heart and soul and would do anything for his team and country. I would take Marty on any team I make, Team Canada will not regreat taking him because there are so many talented members, but I still think he should have made it in.

You almost get the feeling that Sid called the shots over Yzerman when it came to player selection..Kunitz?

See, but how is that a snub? At the very least he was beat out by 8 capable NHL dmen.

Hudler missing?

Come on.

Giroux and St Louis were hart trophy contenders the last two seasons. Ironically they pick no heart Nash and I wanna trade Carter. Cut over guys that are obviously better but instead of being pre madonnas they go undrafted to the OHL/Q and St Louis to the NHL yet battle through that adversity to be the best players in the world.

Clearly character was not a requirement for this team Canada.

I have a feeling that Babcock just doesn't like St Louis and that's why he isn't there. The Giroux omission is beyond understanding, he plays all 3 forwards positions kills penalties wins faceoffs has been clutch in the playoffs is captain of his team and is right in his prime and prepped to play in 2018. I can only think of one reason he was left off and if it some how comes out that is the reason I will never be cheering for Canada again.

Same can be said about every player not selected though? The debate could rage on until the sun goes down. I just think USA with regret not bringing Yandle so he was my pick. Every country has a questionable omission though.

Voted Semin, but I had forgotten about Hudler. I think he might be a bigger snub, proportionately.

St. Louis CAN'T be a 3rd/4th liner. Giroux MIGHT be a good 3rd/4th liner. Kunitz HAS BEEN a great 3rd/4th liner.
