Nobody talking about Schultz's numbers seems to be taking into account that he's playing the AHL with an abundance of talent that belongs in the NHL. He's had Eberle, Hall, and RNH most of the season.
The Oilers are the only team young enough and rich enough in young talent to send their entire NHL first line to the minors. That has to be inflating all of their stats a little.
I agree that it's a bit of a perfect storm for Schultz but his last 2 seasons in the NCAA and his skill set make for a compelling argument that he is the best offensive Dman in this grouping...right now.
For those that say that he hasn't played in the NHL, neither has Nathan or Seth Jones but can't we see talent and production for what it is regardless of level sometimes?
Voted Subban, but he and McDonagh are on another level as compared to the other defenseman, and McDonagh is underrated offensively, he will improve on his point totals and should be able to get you 40+ points while being super solid defensively.
I can only imgine Subban and McDonagh on the same pairing...
And LOL at Schultz being a generational talent. That made my night.
When he score 40 points in the NHL, he can be compared to Subban and McDonagh.
