I was really surprised while listening to the game on the radio at work (I work graveyards so I couldn't watch it.) It sounded like Canada was being sloppy and Subban was letting in soft goals it sounded like it was going to be one of those nightmare games. I was elated when Canada rallied back and found a way to win like they have done so many times in the past. I am looking forward to watching the replay later today, the game sounded pretty wild on the radio. Maybe Canada does have a chance for gold this year.
Lol@ the canadian players trying to avoid the reffing question. We all know what you really think
What can you possibly say about international reffing and European officials, they've been consistently horrid and inept forever, since the birth of International hockey and will remain horribly inept forever..very few of them have any sense or feel for the game...except for one I like and he happens to be a Russian. His name escapes me now, but I think he did the Canada-Finland bronze medal game last year.
I think we played very well for the most part of the game, pleased with the performances of Dano, Mikus and Reway. These kids have potential. The others were good too, we managed to hold off Canada for half of the game. Nagy gave us the chance to do something with the game.
But man oh man am I disappointed in the Canadian kids. They get frustrated and then do some dirty hits to the head. And it wasn't only those two 5 min majors (maybe one of those shouldn't have been one, not going to argue about that), but there were 3 or 4 attacks to the head that went unpunished... Then the diving. I really thought Canada was better than that, simply disappointing. And now I kinda understand what Yakupov meant to say.
Anyway good luck to both teams in the next games.
