I would do that trade with Chicago... if this season is cancelled!

I think his valu could be maximized by holding onto him until at least the trade deadline of the next full season. Right now he is playing awesome, in his prime for 3-4 years. It seems like people valu him now like were lucky to get a first for him. If we held onto him until at least then, I could see him being in the top 10-25 in scoring. IF we could \ or wanted to, a first would only be a starting point in the conversation with any team wanting to secure his services for a play-off run. Im pretty sure he has a no trade clause.

As with any no trade clause though, If a good team in a good city offers you a place you usually accept

Absolutely. Detroit and Chicago are two classy historic franchises where Plekanac could flourish. It just seems to me that his valu doesn't recieve the respect I think he deserves in these threads and 40-50 games into the next season will show he's one of the games better ones.

---> PLEKANEC - GIONTA
---> MERRILL - 1ST 2013
--------------------------------------------------------
The Devils could lose
more forwards ...
they are also more than 35 million free ---> for next season

this deal ... Devils to ensure a future less uncertain

side of Montreal ... with 10 million
they could add a D-Man
more ... a bigger winger

on the UFA market

which could cover the risk posed by the draft picks

example ... if AVAILABLE
Vlad Smid - Ryane Clowe (or your choice)

final result
Plekanec - Gionta -> Clowe - Smid - 2013 1st - Merrill

This is considering that
Montreal is rebuilding period

I do not think
that would Lamouriello

but ... who knows?
---------------------------------------------------
my opinion ...

If the CH is not reconstruction
it would be stupid to trade PLEKANEC , immediately

Perhaps but that's likely the most you would get from the Sens. The Sens have no need for Plek

hey look another plekanecs trade proposal!

1) he's not getting traded because any offer would be a lateral move and create a hole @ center. Eller is not there yet and one year of Desharnais proves 0.

2) a trade creates a huge hole @ center, whereas it would simply be much easier to find him a winger that can actually score or wait and see if bourque and gionta get healthy.

3) Habs don't rebuild and a trade of plekanecs wouldn't be a rebuild move but one that makes habs better, which i don't see happening.

excellent because Bergevin would never ever offer those two for Cowen period.

A 2nd line centre and future bottom pair D-man for a future top pair d-man (and current top 4)? Yeah, the Sens get fleeced.

You can tell the future? How do you know Tinordi is going to be a bottom pairing D? He is the perfect d-man for Subban. Just like Cowen is for EK.

The required minimum skill level to be a top 4 isn't there. Good thing he's huge, that will get him to the show.

Chicago would be such a great fit. The Devils would be a good fit too, imo, but they dont have the pieces that Chicago does to make a deal happen.

No way on god's green earth and colored posts are we sending our two best forwards (giontambeing a 30 goal scorer prorated for the lastn3 years, and our captain) for Merrill and a first come on now...

If the sens have no need to plekanec then why even bother posting? Plek and tinordi for cohen is unfathomably laughable proposal from any side you look at it.

Plekanec is worth Merril and the 1st on his own. Why are we giving Gionta in the deal as a throw in??? Wow, even Habs fans under value Plekanec...sigh...
