They can just amnesty Boozer and gain cap space. I doubt any team would choose to acquire one of Fields/Kleiza and Bargnani just to get rid of a contract when they still have the amnesty available.

They can? I figured that since they hadn't it obviously meant they didn't have their amnesty provision left over, and I just couldn't remember who they had used it on.

3 1/2 games back of a playoff spot. Who would've thunk it with how we started! Can't wait for tomorrow's game.

I don't doubt the kid has social anxiety disorder. As someone with relatively mild social anxiety issues, I understand how crippling it can be at times. But the longer his saga with Houston goes on, the less it seems to be about his mental health and the more it seems to be about him trying to manipulate the situation to make Houston bend to his whim.
The guy is a drama queen. I understand he has anxiety issues, but life can't always revolve around your issues, this guy is an idiot. Refusing his d-league assignment has nothing to do with his anxiety but rather him just trying to manipulate his situation. If I'm the Rockets I'm doing everything I can to get him out of there. This guy is a head case and until he starts to grow up this crap will continue. If he wants to complain about his anxiety all the time then quit basketball, go back to where he came from and work a 9-5 job. This guy is making millions of dollars while the team is trying to do everything they can to help him out and he is just taking them for a ride. I remember him saying that he wanted the team to pay for a private bus to drive him from city to city because he could't handle flying. Wow

No they still have it, and its been rumored they will use it on Boozer this summer so they can cut down on their luxury tax payments.

We also still have it, but the only candidates are Bargnani, Amir and Kleiza. Amir obviously won't get amnestied, so its between Bargs and MJ...I mean Kleiza.

Yea, because Fields is exempt from the Amnesty, right?

Actually, he is. The amnesty clause can only be used on contracts signed before the lockout. Only Amir, Kleiza, and Bargs fall under that criteria.

yeah. I should've said "the only guys who would stand a chance of being bought out". Because Calderon would also be amnesty eligible.

Can't amnesty Calderon because he's expiring at the end of this season so he's already off the books.
And when BC resigns him for 1000M/20yrs, we'll have to wait for the next CBA to have an amnesty clause.

Yeah, that's why I didn't include him in the initial list.

i wouldn't amnesty anyone... kleiza has value. bargnani isn't a scrub, just needs a change of scenery. i'd aim to trade him but not just dump him for cap relief.

I can only hope Kleiza has value. He's too slow to guard people and all he does is shoot it. I'd love to move him just to give more playing time to Anderson and Acy.

It's official, Kobe's become a bad team score It's too bad, I thought we were gonna catch Philly too with their recent downward spiral but they looked good against LA tonight.

the lakers stink. Getting to the half way mark in about two weeks and they're still under .500 I'll laugh if they don't even make the playoffs with the kind of talent they have.

What's the status on Bargs and his return date? Been loving Davis the last couple of weeks.

Cheers

Bargs should be back within a couple of weeks, although it remains to be seen whether or not he will still be a Raptor by the time he recovers from his injury.

I feel like teams will want to see that the injury hasn't affected his shot before they consider trading for him.

You're probably right. I think it would be wise on Dwayne Casey's part to play Bargs as the 6th man upon his return to the lineup so that the chemistry of the first unit isn't disrupted. Let Bargs pile up the points against the second unit of other teams for a while to increase his trade value somewhat before moving him.

Well since most of the teams that would even consider trading for him would probably use him as a 6th man, it's not a bad idea to use him in that role.

Even still, I really don't think there is much of a market for him. Keep in mind that if Bargnani gets traded he can no longer be Amnestied...so the receiving team has no choice but to keep at ~$11M till 2015

Bargs is even useless in NBA2K13. He just gets bullied in the paint.

Told the GM to trade him and requested to get Favors or Thomas Robinson.

I honestly don't think Kleiza has any value. Perhaps a 2nd round pick or something.
To a championship team, Bargnani with his contract would be a scrub. A 7 footer who can't defend/rebound/post-up and spends the entire game outside the 3-point line isn't exactly a hot commodity. May be Bargnani to a run-and-gun team like Phoenix or something.

Big man version of Kyle Korver or Jason Kapono. Guy who you put out there against the second unit and assaults the net from long range.

He reminds me of alot of other players like Joe Johnson etc. who are one dimensional. They can put up big numbers if given the minutes but don't give you much anywhere else on the floor.
