Unless you ave a rail thin frame you can easily weigh 240-250lbs at 6'7".

Chara is 255lbs and he isn't the thickest guy, still tall and gangly.

Tinordi is already around 220lbs(listed at 218?) so 235-240 is not a lot more.

He should probably scratch himself.

you can't put 15lbs of lean mass in one summer. the max you can put is 10lbs in one year and its with a bodybuilding programme. Not a hockey programme where you do full cardio because to much cardio isn't good for building mass

Pacioretty added 25lbs the last 3 years. Tinordi has a bigger frame.

Maybe we should make a few calls to the coaches from the old East German swim and athletics teams?

But yes, if you're using steroids you can put on much more muscle weight than you would naturally, obviously.

Bud12 is right though, unless you're doping you can't put on much more than about 10lbs of muscle in a year, maybe a couple of pounds more if you've never done strength training before.

like I said, 10lbs a year is the norm for a human body. Even if you have a big frame, it will not be much different. On a side note, i'm curious to see how much calorie per day Pacioretty eated. With all the cardo stuff that they do, the guy probably eated like a animal to building mass

Pretty sure it isn't uncommon for professional athletes to consume more than twice the amount of calories that a regular adult would.

Oh and it's ate, not eated.

I'd be happy with him at 230, he could still be very mobile for a big man. Chara is just a freak of nature.

Yeah, he's a 6'9" fitness freak with an Olympic wrestler for a father. Can't really compare someone like him to anyone else, even other very tall hockey players.

after watching a few Desbiens fight I'm not too worried about Tinordi as a fighter. Desbiens can throw 'em. he might not be as good a fighter as I'd hope but he will grow a lot stronger and he should do just fine

No. For male athletes most muscle mass is put on long after puberty. And with
a guy that is over 6'6, 20 years old. Twenty pounds of muscle in the next three
to four years would be below average for certain.

so 4 years isn't long for you? Oh, and you gain more weight during your puberty. I gained 25 lbs in one year when I was 18. Do you think a 25 old guy can put this in one year?

A lot of guys don't physically develop true muscle mass until well after their 18th birthday, especially for really tall guys. For them, the teen years are about gaining height and then they grow their muscle mass. That's where the bean stalk look comes from. Two of my friends are 6'6 and 6'8 and they were so thin when they were 18 it was crazy by 25 they were huge. I don't mean fat wise either just muscle wise. That's a pretty normal level of development.

Everyone is different of course, but guys do continue to develop physically between 18 and 25. In fact, that's when most develop their adult body physique. They just don't get taller.

yeah, thats make sense. I'm not 6'6 so I can't talk for them. what scare me is that Tinordi seem to have a ectomorph type of body. So building mass in is upper body will probably be more difficult for him. Only time will tell.

I'm thinking he may have high muscle potential based on the fact his bones are big, judging by his strong-looking hands. However, I'm in no way convinced he'll do it quickly, e.g. 20 lbs in the next year.

Can anyone please tell me what happens to Avtsin ? and Nattinen ?

At this point, can we write-off Berger, Schultz, Fortier yet ?

If he does 7-10lbs a year the next 3 years all of a sudden you have a 245-250lbs guy. Pacioretty and Eller have done it the past 2 off seasons and both are 12-15lbs heavier at 6'2" or 6'3" and Tinordi has more room to grow at 6'7".

Avtsin played last game, he's under contract for next season.

Nattinen is out for the year most likely (last I heard), he's under contract next season.

Berger is no longer in the organization, was let go.

Schultz is a RFA this summer, so unless he gets a QO, he is likely done with us after this season.

Fortier wasn't given a QO so we don't own his NHL rights. He's a FA so any team can sign him.

I didn't realize Fortier is gone. I had thought he was loaned or something.

He was loaned but he's on an AHL contract, so no team owns his NHL rights.

Toronto Marlies believe they are at the rodeo while the Bulldogs are still playing hockey but the Referees somehow are hornswoggled into thinking it's a rodeo as well.So the Bulldogs are in tough against the Cowboys and their Uncles at the Rodeo on Skates.
