Best Power Forward in the NHL

Consider size, speed, production, etc.

Who do you think is the best power forward in the NHL?

David Backes.

I know people will say Perry, and I'm a huge fan of his, but Backes is more engaged overall than Perry is.

I think if you're going to have a "best" poll, you should include all of the power forwards.

I don't see how anyone could consider Bobby Ryan a power forward but James Neal not.

In terms of being a pure power forward, Lucic, and I don't think it's even close.

The guy's a ****in Cyborg. He can control a game without touching the puck just because he gives all the players on the other team nightmares.

Getzlaf, Perry, E. Kane, and Landeskog should be added. David Clarkson too. Maybe Ovechkin and Iginla.

Perry!!! He's the best powerforward in the today's NHL.

The textbook power forward is Lucic.

Is Rick Nash considered a power forward? I mean if Bobby Ryan is.

If Franzen is considered a power forward, so is Hall. Therefore I vote Hall.

From the list given it's either Ryan or Backes, IMO. Lucic is close as well.

Perry is more skilled but I have to give a homer vote to Lucic. He is the prototypical powe forward and the space he provides for Krejci should not be underestimated. All that said not a big fan of the label power forward.

Bobby Ryan is the best power forward amongst those listed in my book.

Lucic is big, strong, physical, and has an eye for the net, but Backes and a few other forwards listed are far better at controlling a game. Lucic is a valuable piece for sure and a rare commodity, but he's not usually the guy driving the bus.

He might not be driving the bus but because of him there's a 10 foot ring around everyone in the bus.

When Backes and Lucic are 2 of the best power forwards in the current game that goes to show you how there really are no great power forwards in todays game...The great PF of the past destory the guys like Backes and Lucic...I am trying to think of the last trully great PF season and I would have to go with Tkachuk 96-97 season...I dont see that sort of season happening again.

Granted its a different game now then it was back then.

I consider very few players on that poll power forwards.

Of those listed it is Lucic for me, AINEC.

After seeing what Lucic did to the Canadiens and the Sabres, I don't think there's another player at his level. He can single handedly crush the other teams best player on any given moment or steamroll the other team's goalie on a whim, if that is what it takes to win. And it seems like he has no fear whatsoever in his heart, this guy is like the real life terminator. He rendered the sabres irrelevant this season, and no Canadians want to jump over the board when he's on the ice. Lucic is the best power foward today, hands down.
