They put Russia into OT and stole a point from them. I'm rooting for Germany.

I had to log in literally just to save... what a save by cupper there, like wow. Great effort by both teams in this game as well.

I think I really donīt understand this cheering the underdog logic. So letīs cheer for the team that got annihilated for three games and has been pretty much the tournamentīs worst team, so they can save themselves from relegation and we can see them get annihilated next year again ahead of the team that provided good entertainment against top teams? It just seems to make no sense for me. Of course Iīm looking at it throught Slovak colored logic, but if it were the same situation but a team like say Switzerland in Slovakiaīs place I would still have the same opinion about it. So, the cheering the underdog things is basically cheer the team that sucks the most? Iīm not tryig to offend anyone, but it really intrigues me how this cheering for the underdog thing works?

There really is no underdog in this game as Slovakia and Germany have both been quiet in the win column. Cheering for them is admiring their dedication and no-quit attitude and wanting them to be rewarded for it.

Well, last time I checked we were in front 1-0 against Slovakia so we don't really suck the most.

Poland was in a completely different tier, Div IB is a level lower than Div IA, so they got promoted to Div IA for next year. But I disagree with what you said anyway, there isnīt a big difference between Latvia, Germany, Norway, Denmark and Belarus. Some of them have better top prospects than others, but they are much closer to each other than they are to Slovakia or Switzerland. Which of course doesnīt mean that they canīt frustrate Slovakia or Switzerland or even beat them at top level occassionally, but there still is a drop off between SVK/SUI and the other mentioned teams.

Oh, come on, I was saying all tournament long and they have not showed much before todayīs game. And even today itīs hardly a top notch performance against a half sleeping Slovak team.

I view it the same way as you do. Though even with a loss today Slovakia has the opportunity to advance to the medal round with a regulation win vs USA. So Germany winning today isn't so terrible. In my eyes of course, I'm sure you view it differently.

How can you say this when Slovakian junior hockey has been getting worse for the last couple of year while countries you mentioned Latvia,Denmark,Norway, germany are only getting better.

I don't care who wins. I like both clubs. I like Slovakia more, but Germany is in my top-5 and I love underdogs.

Either way, I'm pulling for a Slovakia regulation win against USA tomorrow.

When the 'worse' team is winning, never because they are playing very well etc, always because the other team is sleeping etc.

Never any credit

I feel like I'm watching a team of 12 Milan Bartovic's skating fast but showing nothing up front.

Haha yeah, I'm not sure what I was thinking with 2 teams getting promoted (and two getting relegated) been up all day and don't plan on sleeping with Football (american) coming on in a few hours. I find Latvia and Germany have provided a better opponent this year compared to past years that I have seen Norway. And I agree with you on SVK/SUI.

Alright, hopefully it stays this way now. And then Germany wins in OT.

OK so the last two of each group go to relegation round.

Yup, if Germany gets an OT win it would be a good story and piss the Slovaks off.

Slovakia has to win tomorrow. But an OTL point guarantees that they don't have to win in regulation, and instead can win in OT or SO.
