Nestrasil was running the 1st PP-unit And he was actually pretty good at it, Paetsch hit the post. Coetzee has been a positive surprise as well.

Griffins up 1-0, Glendening to Callahan.

5 mins remaining Griffins up 4-3 after trailing 3-2. Would be a gutsy win.

Callahan 2 goals and nice to see Jurco with an assist.

Very good win. Callahan keeps thriving in a bigger role.

If I'm right, our organization is now in full usage also at AHL-level. They got full roster for yesterday's game with calling the guys from ECHL, but as for now we don't have any extra guys anywhere (except juniors).

Cleary - Zetterberg - Brunner
Abdelkader - Filppula - Nyquist
Tatar - Andersson - Eaves
Miller - Emmerton - Tootoo

(Bertuzzi, Sammy, Mursak, Helm, Datsyuk & Franzen injured)

Jurco - Sheahan - Pare
Nestrasil - Aubry - Coetzee
Hoggan - Raedeke - Callahan
Grant - Clendening - Parkes

(Ferraro injured)

Kronwall - White
Kindl - Quincey
Lashoff - Ericsson
(Huskins)

(Colaiacovo & Smith injured)

Paetch - Almqvist
Billins - Evans
Fournier - Skinner

(Nicastro injured)

Howard
(Mrazek)

(Gustavsson injured)

McCollum
(Pearce)

EDIT:

Oh, Kent Huskins is the only player in the organization, that is not injured or playing. It's quite crazy how much of depth you will need. We have 7 forwards and 4 defencemen and 1 goalie out of the lineup, that makes over a half of a team.

Griffins got some garbage goals from the depth guys(Nestrasil's first goal of the season) to win 2-1. Gus had a shutout going late but a flukey bounce went past him.

I expect some fireworks tonight.

Cannot find anything on Nicastro, but by the original time frame he should be close, that one I remember hearing on the broadcast. Having the same problem finding out what is up with Landon. Does anybody know where to get Griffins health updates?

Ferraro is out there, might have been back last week, missed the last couple.

In any event Jurco scored a garbage goal on the goalies mistake while mishandling.

Ferraro just got what looked like a knee on knee hit and was helped off on his first night back.

Nicastro is back tonight.

Any info on Ferraro? Not the type of player who can afford many serious knee injuries.

Problem with watching those AHL games is the feed is done overhead, basically the center ice jumbotron is what you're watching. So I got a nice look at ads, while Kaiser described what didn't sound all that pretty. Then on top of all that the Griffins didn't actually give him an update to pass along, so it probably isn't good we will see. But it looked knee on knee at speed, he tried to cut back inside of the D-man the guy got his knee while trying to throw up an elbow ala Smith on Smith last year. Don't think the elbow connected but the legs sure did. Hopefully it is just a charlie horse or he has re-hurt his ankle (we finally got that update tonight, that is what he has been out with) but I have a bad feeling on this one.

He has had horrible luck with injuries, would really be a big blow, hopefully it doesn't get him down if it is more serious although you are looking at probably a full year before he gets full explosion back at least that is my opinion on ACL type injuries.

Tough game tonight the eventual game winner for Rockford in the 4-3 game was scored with what appeared to be the green light already on as they went into the second intermission, but it upheld.

The Griffins poured it on in the third and really took it to them but they didn't show up in the first and have nobody to blame but themselves. They cannot stop Jimmy Hayes to save their life and the first period was disappointing but they once again dropped the hammer and outclassed Rockford for much of the game on talent and speed. Just didn't go there way.

Didnt watch the game tonight but the griffs lost 6-3.

1+1 for Nyquist
1+1 for Sheahan
1 goal for Callahan

Sheahan is now 5 goals off his career total at Notre Dame, maybe it was the system afterall. Hes producing just as well as Coyle who a lot of people cried about on here and is better defensively. He doesnt lose board battles or faceoffs all that often.

Really starting to live up to that first round hype

Highlights from the game:

What a goal from Gus

And yeah, Blashill really sounds like Babcock, it's scary...

The Griffins are in a spot where they have to start stringing wins together again or they run the risk of dropping the divisional lead. Don't think they're in trouble playoff-wise but the cushion is smaller now. Nyquist now tied for league lead in scoring among the active players. Eberle still leads which is kinda wacky.

The Griffins outshot them significantly and still lost 3:6 - was it McCollum? Some of those goals looked kind of strange... (thanks for the highlights BTW)

Barring more injuries for Detroit, I think we're gonna see Mrazek start 17-18 of the last 25 games. The schedule kinda prevents him from starting more, sadly. McCollum was able to ride the wave for a while, but he's just not capable enough when the going gets tough.

I didn't even see so much as highlights but that would be my guess. McCollum simply hasn't done much for any length of time since being drafted. He's a bust as a prospect IMO.

Well yeah, if you get 20 shots on your net and give up 5 goals, that's not exactly what I expect of my goalie... too bad that the schedule down there has so many back-to-back games as has been pointed out :/

Heck of a setup by Nyquist to Skinner. Trails the game 1-2 though.

Good 2nd, turned the game around and lead 4-2 a lot thanks to the PP.

Kept pouring in the 3rd to win 7-3. Billins hatty, not the normal defenseman hatty as he scored every goal in close range, but great nontheless! Nyquist up to AHL scoring race lead, had consecutive 3pt nights and 7pts for the weekend.
