Granted, Jags have never had the type of personnel ATL has had, but seeing what he's doing really makes you wonder what was going on.
Know them both personally and you couldn't be further from the truth. JDR far from quit on his team or his job. He turned down USC to stay and try and fix that mess. He had a team with one legit NFL talent, a clueless GM who brought him crap to work with and an owner selling the team. No coach would have succeeded in that s**tstorm.
Koetter got stuck with one weapon that he didn't want to get killed by running him 35 times a game. How do you "open up" an offense with one running back, a qb that looked like a new born deer and no receivers? Koetter showed what he can do with guys who can play football and JDR has a defense that looks like one in J'ville before Gene Smith took over.
And yes Mike Smith very much deserved the ATL job. Great guy and coach.
I think Koetter has a good shot at the Cleveland gig and I would love to see JDR in Chicago.

I just got off from work and have heard some of the audio. Lurie trying to sell Roseman, he better be right about him or this team wont be competitive for the next 10 years.

They need to clean house of all the veteran players that didnt seem to care. I think that will help a bit.

Can they cut him right now? How much do they owe him and how will their cap be affected?

A bit surprised Lovie got sacked most likely because GB could not beat the Vikings, but the bottom line is 1 playoff berth in 6 years with that defence is pretty poor.

Not sure what Whisenhunt was supposed to do with that horrific O-line+QB situation.

Ferentz to KC? Eh I believe it when I see it. The thing he got going for him is that he isn't a college systems coach, his approach to football is pretty NFL-ready. But at the same time, he makes a load of money at Iowa and recent results there haven't been so hot either.

Honestly I can't remember what he did this year...

Lost the room, or at least parts of it. For all his brilliance as a coach, he held a few petty grudges and absolutely could not call the QB situation right. A situation he largely inflamed. Brian Hoyer comes in off waivers and looks better than the clowns they had been throwing out there. The Cardinals have a top 5 defense, yet could only manage to win 5 games.

I hope Horton gets promoted and they bring in a good OC. Andy Reid would be a circus, and the Cardinals are already plenty dysfunctional without that added distraction.

Doug Marrone of Syracuse is interviewing for Buffalo and Cleveland jobs, per Schefter.

As a special teamer ,, He was greatest of alltime and a case can be made for him (Still tied for most return TD's of any type in history with Deion Sanders)

But the absolute awful expirement of Angelo/Smith to use him as WR was a complete failure

Not to mention it made him a lesser threat in return game as since his contract is all WR incentive laden he pretty much only cared about the WR aspect of game last few years

2010 looks like his last hurrah

Devin Hester can really go #### himself

"The media, the false fans, you all got what you all wanted," Hester said. "Majority of you all wanted him out. As players, we wanted him in. I guess the false fans outruled us."
If wanted a coach who failed to make playoffs 5 of last 6 years and who had teams go 7-3 and 7-1 in back to back years only to miss playoffs makes one a false fan

Well almost everyone in Chicago is a false fan

Odd scene in Philly with Lurie presenting Reid with a...career? tenure? ''ball'' for his accomplishments in Philly. Seemed like a scene of joy more than a firing.

I love how morons like Hester upset at the fans for Lovie getting fired all the while ignoring that their **** play is the reason he's getting a coaching gig somewhere else.

Not sure if this has been confirmed, but it looks like Allen is staying as HC of the Raiders, but most of the other coaches are gone, and Knapp is confirmed as gone (OC).

Any news/thoughts of replacements?

We all knew Smith would be out as HC if the Bears failed to make the post season. If they had made it, he would not have been fired. How can you account for such a collapse by that team? I know it wasn't all injuries.

And what is a false fan anyway? That term doesn't even make sense. You're either a fan or not.

Their schedule early on was pretty easy imo.

That could have been it. Coaches get sacked though. It's a part of sports. Hester is being a baby about it.

He just watched a guy who he respected and looked up to get canned. He's never played for any other coach in the pros. I'd give him a break if I were a Bears fan. Odds are he will apologize and come ready to play next season.

It will be for someone else because the Bears are expected to release Hester this offseason (Too big a cap hit for such little production)

Lovie Smith is only coach stupid enough to start Devin Hester at WR and believe that Hester can be #1 WR
