I saw it and my previous post in this thread is an accurate description. Gagne went right after this guy flailing away and put a nice beating on him.

Was this the Radovan Somik kind of flailing or the Patrick Sharp? Sharp is pretty scrappy for being a light weight.

Nope, no such luck. Poker is a better show for them, more people watch it.

Not really sure how to answer this, but I'll go with Sharp. And of course Sharp is a tough guy: he is from Thunder Bay!

I wonder if Gagne's play at the World Championship will finally allow Hitch to move him from a checking role to scoring role. I watch the guy play in world championship competitions and he's an excellent offensive player. Yet, when I watch him play with the Flyers, I think to myself how they're wasting him. This guy should be a high scoring winger, yet they have him as a shut down player. Just a complete and utter waste of a talented individual.

It didn't take a Gagne fisticuff to make Brash useless.

my understanding was that this was the intention all along... the reason that Gagne has been playing with Primeau so much is more a product of the wings that we've had on the team, less a statement about their belief in his abilities. you weren't going to stick john leclair in a role where he would have to chase players around and that kind of stuff... set up for disaster there.

expect it to be something like:

Gagne-Carter-Roenick
Kapanen/Knuble-Primeau-Sharp/Radio
(i'm confused outside of that...)
Knuble/Kapanen-Handzus/Richards-Sharp/Radio
Fedoruk/Brashear-Handzus/Richards-Somik

then you got Umberger... where does he fit in? i could see him sliding into a 2nd line wing role on this roster... it'll be interesting. we are stacked with centermen assuming they all show up when camp opens.

I think Umberger should stay in the AHL another season, and we should pick up a top 6 LW. We'd be pretty set at forward then.

We may have to move a piece or two. Or, if we are lucky, player buyouts will not count against the cap, or count only a percentage of the amount.

Gags with 2 big goals so far against the slovaks, he and nash are the only ones playing for Canada in this tourney. Hot hand, give him the puck some more.
Currently 4-4 with 8 mins left..

Is it just me or does anyone else here see how Gagne's talent in Philadelphia is being wasted? I mean, this guy is supposed to be our go to guy and we've got him on a checking line. Great player asset management by Hitchcock.
