What's frustrating is you can see how talented he is. He has first overall talent. I think the question now is if he can develop the decision making to go along with that.

It's a scary thought, could be a tough game if Slovakia brings the game they brought in the first against Canada. US should definitely win but their complete lack of finish could cost them.

The offense was non-existant after the first 15 minutes. Canada-USA might see each other again in the semi-finals... if Canada wins against Russia.

What is he 17? He'll be a horse, no question about it.

They aren't built to distribute scoring, that is on the first two lines he is a part of that and is rarely winning battles against teams not named Germany. I am just not as impressed as I am when I see him play in the OHL. I know he is a good player, but I am tired of hearing every Habs fan act like he stands alone. He is also in that group of guys that need to play to their ability. Gaudreau is the worst for me there. Miller has been pretty bad but at least he wins board battles and face offs and plays hard. He just has no touch. Gally has great playmaking abilities they need that last pass desperately and he is just hammering pucks into shin pads and the back glass. If you aren't going to hit the net at least take on the role of unlocking the defense with passes.

A great scouting does not mean a PERFECT one. Everybody who does scouting know that. I mean, Habs have the 2nd best record of players that play in the league. Timmins is probably the best head scout in the league. We only had 2 top 5 picks during his tenure since 2003. And yet....he chose Fischer in 2006. Leblanc might not be the best pick he should have made. He went with Chipchura in 2004. AKost in 2003 instead of tons of future hall of famers.....

What a strange tourney. Blank Germany 8-0 and lose to both Russia and Canada 2-1. So many good things happening, but the offense has gone vapor. What more can Housley do to shake up the line-up? He's just not getting any production from most of the key guys.

Subban was a beast tonight and Team Canada's Defense was great as well. Team U.S.A. can only manage too score 1 goal for a second consecutive game I lol at the U.S.

IIHF has no clue, do they?

Yesterday Lindholm should have had an assist and today Sheifele got one on the first goal when it really was Griffin Reinhart?

The PP needs a lot of work. No movement and super predictable. Yikes.

Next time maybe he'll think twice about trading offense for grit...if there is a next time for him.

Yeah, I don't like the 10 minute misconducts for soft hits. 2 minute penalty? Sure.

What a life Murphy is living right now, this guy could commit murder on the ice and Spott would still find ice time for him. This team is f***ed going forward. Let's hope Subban can save us because the coaching staff doesn't have a clue. Murphy and Hamilton are doing whatever they want to do and Rielly gets pulled after one PP shift, anyways I'm done with this. I know we won but I just can't believe how retarded this team is being coached. See you guys tomorrow.

Which brought us Kaberle who helped us win a cup, along with a first-round pick in 2011 who gave us Dougie Hamilton.

Each trade and draft has helped us draft better players.

Hamill was a bust, but you can't win them all.

Bright spot for Canada...they did a beauty of a job collapsing in front of Subban.

Strome had a strong game.

Subban looked fantastic, silenced a lot of detractors.

Hamilton had a much better game, one of the better defenders today.

Trouba looks to be something special, impressed me the most from USA.

Doubtful, depends on the Slovakia game. This was a bad draw for the US being in the same group as Canada and Russia, but this is also a lack of scoring. If Slovakia can find the net with just a bit more regularity then Canada and Russia did the US is in the relegation round again. But I'd expect a low scoring US win in that one.

Galchenyuk needs to see the ice a LOT more. Prettymuch the one somewhat reliable offensive producer on this team.

Are people forgetting Ryan Murray's performance in the semi-finals last year? He got drafted 2nd overall anyways.

I dont understand how a junior PP with RNH on it isn't scary explosive.

The Oilers and the Rebels with RNH being the PP QB had the best powerplays in their respective leagues. This Canadian PP one of the worst I've ever seen from Canada at this tournament.

No net presence, very stable, lacked movement... Just... bleh.

I don't care how old he is. He has been TERRIBLE. I believe he's been on the ice for all the goals the US has given up. That doesn't happen by accident.

From a Bruins fan perspective, glad Subban played well, but concerned about how ordinary Dougie Hamilton has looked.

All the same, historically this tournament hasn't been all that great a barometer for how well players will make out in the NHL. It's fun to watch, but as a gauge of future potential, its overrated.
