LD Oliver Kylington (2015, 60th, CGY)

Birthdate; 1997-05-19
21 Games 3 goals 6 assists +17 (Superelit J20 - Sweden)

Good numbers for a U16-player in J20 Sweden. Represented Sweden in U16 wearing the A. Best +/- in his team, Another upcoming solid D?

One of the best skaters I've seen in TV-pucken. He's very advanced physically, rushing/puckmoving D.

Yes, he's going to be a good one. Named best defenseman at the recent U16 tournament in Russia.

If SSK stays in SEL2(playing for promotion), I wouldn't be totally surprised if he's a regular there next season.

Made his SHL debut for Färjestad today and scored a goal, becoming the youngest goalscorer in SEL/SHL history.

2015 draft looks like it could be a good one.

Felt strange watching a defenseman with #14.

Yup. Worked. Thank You.

The goal wasn't a beauty but being out there is accomplishment enough.

Pretty weak goal by Ullmark(?) but you don't often see 16 year olds go coast-to-coast like that.

What is in the water over there you guys produce way too many excellent defencemen.
Sweden churns out excellent D and Finland excellent Goalies.

I saw him for the second time today. He scored a great goal and had the most ice time on the team... He is a top 2 draft pick if you ask me!

Over who McDavid or Barzal? However I don't disagree he could go top 10.

Based on talent, Barzal can't match Kylington. But at this moment I believe McDavid is my #1

That has to do with tradition.
Sweden likes to use their Ds as point guards.

Canada Likes to have Big and Solid guys on the Ds and Cs.
And in my opinion they tend to lack in skill.

Yes Letang, Doughty, Subban, Keith, Pietrangelo lack in skill...

No. But you got to count the fact that Canada has over 600 000 registered players and Sweden only 70 000.
I didn't mean that there's no skilled Canadian defence players out there.
That's why Sweden can keep up.

21GP 5G-16A-21P +17 so far this year in Superelit. Highest scoring season ever for a U17 defenseman in this league is 25 points in 34 games.

That's great to hear. Just searched him up on Google. The kid looks and is built like he's 20. Insane.
